MU Drops Heartbreaker to Arcadia

The Misericordia University men's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-1 decision to Arcadia in their home finale, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.
 
The Knights sandwiched a pair of 25-22 wins around MU's 25-19 win the second set before rallying from a 23-20 deficit to win the finale, 25-23.
 
Anthony DePalma led the Cougars with 13 aces and four blocks and Billy Murphy had 10 blocks, four aces and six digs.
 
Dylan Sellitti had 39 assists and four aces and Austin Cervasio added eight blocks.
 
MU took an 11-10 lead in the opener on DePalma's smash down the right sideline.
 
Murphy's kill made it 12-11, but the Knights scored five of six to take a 16-13 lead.
 
Three Arcadia errors and a kill by Cervasio in the middle got the Cougars with 21-19.
 
Kyle Ganoe's kill inside the right line and an Arcadia error made it 22-21, but the Knights scored three of the last four points to win.
 
Misericordia trailed 8-3 in the second set, but Sellitti's ace inside the right corner capped a 5-0 run to tie the match, 8-8.
 
Murphy's rip down the left side put MU up 15-12 and Sellitti's ace off the net made it 19-14.
 
Murphy's kill gave the Cougars a 23-18 lead and MU closed it out on a pair of Arcadia errors.
 
DePalma had three straight kills to pull the Cougars even, 17-17, in the third set, but the Knights scored four of the next five points and went on to win, 25-22.
 
The Cougars trailed throughout much of the fourth set but scored four straight points to take their first lead, 17-16.
 
Murphy's three kills and an ace gave the Cougars a 21-19 lead and DePalma followed with a kill and a block to make it 23-20.
 
Arcadia rallied with five straight points to close out the match.
