The Misericordia University football team scored two special teams touchdowns to win its MAC opener, 27-21, Saturday at Albright.
Eric Jeffries returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and
Ian Rogers returned a blocked field goal for a score.
Carlos Artson added a 40-yard TD run and
Nicholas Neidlinger had a pair of late field goals as the Cougars improved to 2-1.
Tied 7-7, MU went back in front later in the first quarter when
Ian Rogers returned a blocked field goal for a score.
Artson capped a 71-yard drive with a 40-yard scamper to give MU a 21-7 lead early in the third quarter.
Albright scored twice in the third period, including a fumble-return for a score to pull even, 21-21.
Neidlinger connected on a pair of field goals over the final 7:07 of the game to provide the winning margin.
Misericordia will visit Delaware Valley, Saturday.
