The Misericordia University League of Legends blue team opened the NECC season with a 2-0 win over Illinois State, Wednesday.
Â
The Cougars focused on getting objectives and the top side of the map. Â With some early pressure given by the jungler, Liam Pitchford, Zack Grosvenor was able to take a commanding lead on Kled in the top lane.
Â
Peter Sayre swung some of that pressure his way with a double-elimination which allowed MU to secure a dragon. The Cougars won 30-28 thanks to the commanding presence of Zack Grosvenor, who went 10-1.
Â
In the second match, the Cougars used a team style that got the game going late and allowed MU to out scale their opponents. Â With
Zach Hemond keeping a lead over the opponents mid Laner, the rest of the lanes were able to scale with the help of the jungler. Â Hemond led the Cougars to a 25-7 win to complete the 2-0 sweep.
