The Misericordia University men's volleyball team split a pair of matches on the opening day of the Cougars Kickoff Classic, Friday night at the Anderson Center.

MU took the opener from Emmanuel, 3-2, before falling to nationally-ranked Nazareth, 3-1.

Anthony DePalma tied a career high with 26 kills and added three aces against Emmanuel.

Joe Kozak had 13 kills and five aces and
Benjamin Clendening had 11 kills and three blocks.

Kyle Ganoe had 31 assists and
Gannon DeFrain added 22.

DePalma had 18 kills in the nightcap and Kozak added 11 kills and three aces.

Clendening had eight kills and two blocks while Kozak and
Jackson Fehnel added two blocks each.

The Cougars will face Baldwin Wallace, Saturday at 10:00.
