The nationally-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer used a dominant offensive performance to cruise a 3-0 win over York in a battle of regionally-ranked teams, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars are ranked 21
st in the nation and third in Region IV while York is ranked seventh in Region V. The MU win snapped a six-game win streak for the Spartans.

Maegan Allspach scored twice and
Colleen Kinsella added a goal as the Cougars took 33 shots on the night, including 17 on goal.Â
Brenna Field and
Olivia Maniskas each added an assist.

The Cougars applied pressure from the opening tap with Field's 30-yard strike in the third minute testing the Spartans keeper.

Allspach whipped a shot from the top of the box that was saved in the 10
th minute and Sweitzer dribbled through the defense and her shot from inside the box was tipped over the bar at 12:12.

Sweitzer nearly got the Cougars on the board at 14:07 when her shot squirted past the keeper, but a Spartans defender cleared it off the line.

Allspach made it when 1-0 when she buried a rebound at 18:05.

Madison Brdaric had a near-miss when her shot from the top of box was just over the bar at 26:03. Brdaric got dangerous again 10 minutes later when she received a thru-ball and beat the keeper, but her tough-angle shot from the left wing was blocked.

The Cougars didn't waste any time in the second half as they scored twice in the first six minutes.

MU's corner was played out to Field at the right corner of the box where she chipped the ball back in and Allspach's volley was inside the right post for a 2-0 lead at 46:03.

Maniskas played a ball to Kinsella on the right side of the box and her blast inside the far post made it 3-0 at 50:41.

Allspach nearly got the hat trick, but her shot hit the right post at 58:33.Â
Julia Beck followed with a rip from the top of the box that hit the crossbar at 59:31.
