The Misericordia University field hockey dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 decision to Lebanon Valley in double overtime, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Lily Metress scored a goal and
Tatyanna Lainez added an assist.

Sarah Bogina made 12 saves in goal to keep MU in the game.

Lebanon Valley took an early lead with a goal at 5:03.
The Cougars pulled even with less than two minutes remaining in the third period. Lainez dribbled through two defenders on the left side of the circle before passing to Metress who one-timed a shot between the goalie's pads.

MU had a good opportunity off a corner midway through the fourth period.Â
Morgan Walsh threaded a pass through the crease to Lainez, but her deflection was just wide of the left post.

Bogina made a diving save to her right with just over five minutes remaining in regulation and added two more stops in the final minute.

She came out of the cage to make a stop early in the first OT and made two point-blank saves near the left post with than two minutes remaining.

The Dutchmen tallied the game-winning goal on a rebound just 1:06 into the second OT.
