Lily Metress scored a pair of goals to lead the Misericordia University field hockey team to a 4-1 win over Delaware Valley in their MAC Freedom opener, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Tatyanna Lainez added goals for the Cougars and
Haley Harper made three saves in goal.

Metress got her own rebound and scored inside the left post to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead just 4:40 into the game.

Kempf made it 2-0 less than a minute when took a pass in front from
Ashley Pitz and turned and scored inside the left post.

The Aggies cut the lead in half with a goal with just nine seconds left in the first half.

Abigail O'Donnell found a wide-open Metress whose shot deflected off the DVU goalie for a 3-1 lead early in the third quarter.

Lainez dribbled through the Aggies defense and beat the keeper 1v1 with a perfectly-placed shot inside the left post with just under 10 minutes to play.
