Owen McGuffey and Stephen Rowley have been named the Misericordia University Wendy's Male Athletes of the Month for October while Grace Gallagher and Julia Beck shared the female honor.
 
A junior wide receiver, McGuffey helped the football team to a 2-2 month.  He had 15 catches and five touchdowns while averaging 96.7 yards per game in three games.
 
He had two touchdowns and 105 yards at Widener and added two touchdowns and 110 yards in a win over Albright.
 
Rowley, a sophomore, was a repeat winner after winning the MAC Cross Country individual championship to become the first male in program history to win the MAC championship.  In addition, he was MU's top finisher at DeSales and Rowan and led the Cougars to a runner-up finish at MAC's, their best finish ever.
 
Beck, a junior back, led the women's soccer team to a 9-0 record during the month and the top seed in the MAC Freedom championships.  She scored five goals and had one assist while anchoring a defense that posted seven shutouts.  She scored a goal in a 2-1 win over Stevens and had two goals in a win over Delaware Valley.  She had a goal and an assist in a win at Arcadia and added a goal in the MAC Freedom semifinals against DeSales.

Gallagher, a sophomore, finished second at the MAC Cross Country championships while leading the Cougars to the team title.  She MU's top finisher at DeSales and was the team's second finisher at Rowan.
