Anthony DePalma led the Cougars with 14 kills will

Joe Kozak had three blocks each.

Gannon DeFrain had 18 assists.

Elmira used a 6-1 late in the first set to take a 24-16 lead.

Trailing 12-9 in the second set, the Cougars scored five straight points to take a 14-12 lead.
 Walsh and
Logan Romeika sandwiched kills around a pair of kills by DePalma during the run.

After Elmira rallied to take a 17-15 lead, the Cougars used a Soaring Eagles service error and an ace from DePalma to pull even.

Down 21-18, DePalma's kill and an Elmira error made it 21-20. Elmira scored three of the last four points to win, 25-22.

The Cougars broke a 16-16 tie in the third set with seven straight points. DeFrain had an ace in the middle of six Elmira errors to give MU a 23-16 lead.

However, Elmira recovered with a 9-0 run to win 25-23.
