The Misericordia University women's soccer team is ranked fifth in the nation, according the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.

The Cougars were 21-1-1 a year ago and finished the season ranked fifth in the country after falling to eventual national champion Johns Hopkins in the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.

Misericordia captured the MAC Freedom title and won three games in the NCAA Tournament.

The Cougars open the 2023 season when they host Susquehanna, September 1.
