The Misericordia University football program and head coach
John Davis, in conjunction with former assistant coaches, players and the sports information office has announced its All First-Decade Team.
To be eligible for consideration, players must have played a minimum of two seasons between 2012-2022.
The team is led by Player of the Decade Jeff Puckett, MU's quarterback from 2012-15. Puckett played in 38 career games and finished with 3,682 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns, He also passed for 3,552 yards and 25 touchdowns. Puckett was named first-team All-MAC at quarterback in 2015 and holds 13 school records. He ran for 301 yards and five touchdowns in the season opener against Gettysburg in 2013.
Brady Williams was selected at quarterback while
Michael Gawlik and Dave Cromwell were named at running back.
Williams played in 28 games from 2017-19 and amassed 5,300 career passing yards and 47 touchdowns while completing 59% of his career attempts.  Williams also compiled 1,367yds and  23 touchdowns on the ground while leading the Cougars to their first two winning seasons and first MAC/Centennial Bowl appearance.  He was a d3football.com All-Region selection and currently holds nine school records.
Gawlik ran for 1,769 yards and 16 touchdowns in just 23 games from 2019-22. He averaged 5.7 yards per carry and had 12 career runs of more than 35 yards, including scoring runs of 53, 46 and 43 yards. He also owned a 24.5 yard kickoff return average.
Cromwell gained 1,571 yards and 11 touchdowns in 25 games from 2017-21. He earned All-MAC honors and had five career 100-yard games and averaged 5.0 yards per carry for his career.
Sam Gillison, 2015-19, Isaiah Williams, 2017-19, and Juwan Petties-Jackson, 2012-15, were all selected at wide receiver.
In 38 games, Gillison set program records with 190 receptions, 2,814 yards and 28 touchdowns. He averaged a touchdown per game in his junior and senior seasons and earned All-MAC honors in both campaigns. He went over 230 receiving yards twice in his career - Wilkes (2018) and Alvernia (2019).Â
Williams had 181 receptions, 2,400 yards and 17 touchdowns in 31 career games. He had 11 100-yard games and had an 81-yard scoring reception in his MU debut in 2017. He added 504 yards in career kickoff returns.
Juwan Petties-Jackson accounted for 2,111 career all-purpose yards as a wide receiver and return man. He led the team in receiving yards in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and was named All-MAC in MU's inaugural season of 2012.
Tom Stelzer was selected at tight end where he played in 40 career games. He caught the first pass in program history at Gettysburg and ended his career with 34 catches and four touchdowns, both school records for tight ends. He earned All-MAC status as a senior.
The offensive line features
Michael Anderson, John Ameen, Len Watson, Derek Hendershot and Sam Johnson.
Anderson, 2019-23, is the first player in program history to be named All-MAC as a first year and is the only player to earn first-team status in multiple seasons. In addition, he is the only current player to make the All-Decade team.
Ameen, 2012-15, played in all 40 games over his four seasons and is only offensive lineman in school history to earn three All-MAC selections. He anchored the MU line that produced the MAC's top rushing attack in 2013.
Watson played in 40 games from 2015-18 and was a two-time All-MAC selection, including first-team honors in 2018. He allowed less than one sack per 25 attempts in his career.
Hendershot, 2015-18, played in 26 games and ended his career with first-team All-MAC honors in 2018. He joined Watson on the line that allowed less than one sack per 25 attempts in the Brady Williams era.
Johnson started 26 games from 2013-16 and was All-MAC as a senior. He was part of a line that produced 86 rushing first downs and 4.4 yards per carry in 2015.
On defense, Cory Dickerson, Fredo Santorelli,
Mason Geary and Greg Zotian were named on the line.
Dickerson, 2013-2016, played in all 40 games in his four seasons while amassing 110 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.
Santorelli played in 39 career games from 2014-17 and served as a team captain as a senior. He compiled 130 career tackles, including 10 for loss, and four sacks. He added six career kick returns for 62 yards.
Geary played in 36 games with 21 starts from 2018-22 and was the Coach's Award winner as a senior. He earned 122 tackles with 10 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Zotian played in 35 games, including all 10 in the 2012 inaugural season. He finished with 78 tackles, five sacks and two blocked kicks. He also handled the punting duties for five games in the first season and had five kicks for 161 yards.
Linebackers are Hunter Pates, Tavion Rogers, Sean Weg and Garrett Murray.
Pates, 2012-15, led the team in tackles in 2013 and amassed 178 tackles over 33 games. He added 10.5 tackles for loss and set a career-high for tackles in a game in 2015 vs. Delaware Valley.
Rogers, 2018-2022, led the Cougars in tackles in back-to-back seasons (2019-21). He was a team captain and earned All-MAC, All-ECAC and was team MVP.  He finished with 165 tackles 20.5 tackles for loss and holds the record for tackles in a game with 18 against Wilkes in 2021.
Weg, 2012-15, was a mainstay on the Cougar defense playing in all 40 games during his career and amassing 176 career tackles and making 8.5 tackles for loss. Weg's best performance came against Stevenson in 2014 where he had 12 tackles and a sack.
Murray was a dynamic player in his 19 career games in two seasons and amassed 140 career tackles in 2016 and 2018. He had 5.5 Tackles for loss, five interceptions and defended 14 passes. Murray earned All-MAC status in 2018.
Nick Yeager,
Alex Hafner, Brandon Salazar and Tyler Collins were named to the team in the secondary.
From 2016-19, Yeager set the school tackles record with 258, including 149 solo, in 38 career games. Yeager also set the school record for tackles in a season with 103 in 2018. He also set school records for career passes defended (25) and interceptions (7). He also compiled 839 career return yards and was named All-MAC in 2017 and 2018.
Hafner played in 37 games from 2018-22 and had 161 tackles, including 19.5 tackles for loss. He added four interceptions and three sacks. His 80-yard interception return for a touchdown fueled MU's first-ever win over Lycoming in 2022.  He earned All-MAC honors as a senior.
Salazar had 195 career tackles in 39 games from 2012-15. He had a career-high 15 tackles, including nine solo, against Lebanon Valley in 2015.
Collins played in 28 games from 2014-17 and had 188 career tackles. He had 10.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and two interceptions. He earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his 13-tackale and one interception performance against Wilkes in 2017.
Patrick Newins made the team at punter after amassing 6,618 total yards for a career average of 40.8 yard per kick. He had 38 punts of more than 50 yards and placed 37 kicks inside the opponent 20-yard line. He converted 62 PATs and was 6-10 on field goal attempts and added 12 career tackles. He was a three-time All-MAC honoree, including first-team status in 2016.
Matt Dinnocenti rounds out the team at kicker. He scored 17 points in 27 career games from 2016-19. He holds the school record for single-season PATs (36) and career (68). He also made a school-record 13 field goals and compiled more than 2,007 kickoff yards.
