Connor McLaughlin kicked his second field goal of the game with six seconds remaining to lift the Misericordia University football team to a 13-10 win at Albright, Saturday.

McLaughlin converted a 17-yarder to cap a 74-yard game-winning drive.

Tied 10-10, the Cougars took over at their own 25-yard line after Albright missed a potential go-ahead 42-yard field goal with 1:33 remaining.

On second down,
Jacob Hunter scrambled for 17 yards for a new set of downs at the MU 42-yard line.

Hunter rolled right and scampered for seven yards and then found
Davon Reams in the flat for five yards to convert a third-and-four into Albright territory.

Hunter scrambled for seven yards on first down and then connected with
L.T. Messick for eight yards on the right hash mark for a first down with :43 to play.

Owen McGuffey made a leaping grab at the one-yard line to set up first and goal with :29 remaining. McLaughlin nailed the game-winner on third down.

The Cougars took a 3-0 lead on their second possession of the game. MU took over at their own 45 after forcing an Albright punt with 11:38 to play in the first quarter.

Hunter found Messick deep down the left side for a 32-yard reception to convert a third-and-22 to the Albright 15. Reams picked up nine yards on first down, but the drive stalled at the three yard line and McLaughlin made a 20-yard field goal to give MU the lead with 5:18 to play.

Thomas Morris intercepted an Albright pass in the end zone midway through the second period and the Cougars marched 80 yards to extend their lead.

Facing third-and-9 deep in their own end, Hunter found Messick a leaping grab down the middle for a 42-yard gain to the Albright 37.

On third-and-1, Hunter went around right end for three yards and a personal foul penalty moved it to the Lions 12.

Hunter connected with
Jacob Hoy on a slant for an eight-yard TD strike and a 10-0 with just under four minutes to play in the first half.

Albright kicked a field goal as time expired in the first half and tied the game late in the third quarter.

Hunter was 12-24 for 174 yards and added 75 yards on the ground and Messick had four catches for 115 yards

Gavin Morris had seven tackles and
Thomas Morris added seven stops and an interception.
