The Misericordia University women's wrestling team returned to the mats when they travelled to the East Stroudsburg University Open, Sunday.
Ahlexa Montalvo led the Cougars with three wins while
Elizabeth Adebola picked up her first collegiate win.
Grace Capoocia,
Kailey Remish, Madelyn Stultz,
Maya Landefeld and
Sarah Lynn also competed for MU.
Montalvo received a bye in the opening round at 131 pounds, but lost 10-0 in the second round to drop into the consolation bracket.
She Bailee Militello of Sacred Heart in the first period and beat Evangeline Moran of Western New England by technical superiority, 12-1, in the first period. She won by medical forfeit over Gabrielle Baker of East Stroudsburg before being eliminated in a 10-0 loss to Brianna Holcomb of Frostburg.
Adebola won by fall over Mollie Winters of Alvernia to pick up her first collegiate win at 160 pounds.
She fell to Emily Sindoni of Elmira, in the round of 16 and was eliminated in the consolation round of 16 by Atiyana Williams of Elmira.
