The Misericordia University softball team wrapped up the regular season with a split at Stevens. The Cougars dropped the opener, 12-4, but won the nightcap, 9-6, in eight innings.
Bridget Doherty had two hits in the opener and
Gianna Foreman drove in two runs.
The Cougars took an early 4-0 lead, but Stevens scored 12 unanswered runs over the next four innings.
In the nightcap, Makenzie Fizer had four hits and
Casey Funesti had three hits and three RBI and Doherty had two hits, two RBI and scored two runs.
Sophia DeFebo allowed just one unearned run in 3.2 innings of relief to pick up the win.
The Cougars trailed early in game two, but scored three runs in the sixth to take a 6-5 lead.
Doherty's two-out, two-run triple tied the game and Fizer's single to right gave the Cougars a 6-5 lead.
Stevens scored the tying run on a two-out error in the bottom of the seventh, but the Cougars put together a two-out game-winning rally in the top of the eighth.
Fizer reached on an infield single with two outs and
Nikki Elliott,
Kaitlin Redling and Funesti all singled through the middle to put MU in front, 8-6.
Kiersten Tinio lined a single to center to provide the final margin, 9-6.
The Cougars will face DeSales in the first round of the MAC Freedom championships, Thursday at Lebanon Valley.
