The Misericordia University men's volleyball team set a new record for wins in a season as the Cougars ended the regular season with a sweep of Eastern and Bard, Saturday on Doc Mould Court.

The Cougars won both matches, 3-0, to improve to 22-10 and 7-1 in the MAC.

Kyle Ganoe led the Cougars with 11 kills in the opener while senior
Zane Martin had 10 kills and three blocks. Senior
Alex Furlong added 12 digs on Senior Appreciation Day.

The Cougars won 25-17, 25-12, 25-22.

MU scored four straight points to open the first set and never trailed.Â
Jackson Fehnel had an ace and a kill and
Anthony DePalma had two kills as the Cougars closed the set on a 5-1 run.

Ben Clendening had two kills in an 8-1 run as MU took a 14-6 lead in the second set.

Joe Kozak added one as the Cougars scored four of the last five points in the finale.

In the nightcap, Furlong and
Owen String had six kills each and
Andrew George had 18 assists, 11 digs and two aces as the Cougars won 25-12, 25-11, 25-20.

Matt Albrecht had two kills each as the Cougars scored seven straight points to take a 20-10 lead in the opener against Bard.

Tyler Knoop had two kills apiece as MU jumped out a 7-1 lead in the second set.

James Walsh had three straight MU kills as the Cougars stretched their lead to 18-8.

String had two kills in a 6-0 run as MU took a 24-19 lead in the finale.
