The nationally-ranked Misericordia University women's team recorded a 2-1 win at Moravian in a battle of unbeaten teams, Saturday night.
Misericordia, the number-five team in the country, got goals from
MK Peters and
Emma Sweitzer to improve to 7-0.
The Cougars carried the play throughout the first half and finally cashed in with less a minute to play before halftime.
Peters took a pass on the right side of the box and lofted a shot just out of reach of the Greyhounds keeper and into the far corner for a 1-0 lead at 44:37.
Sweitzer had a near-miss earlier in the half when her shot from the right flank was denied on a diving save near the right post at 28:22.
Lily Heistand settled a loose ball and fired a shot from the top of the box that was stopped less than a minute later.
Peters entered the game in the 37
th minute and gave the Cougars the lead just over six minutes later.
The Cougars nearly made it 2-0 early in the second half when Sweitzer found
Alyssa Steenback on the right side of the box, but her attempt was denied by another diving stop by the Greyhounds keeper at 48:35.
Julia Beck intercepted a pass near midfield and carried down the right side before playing a perfect pass to Sweitzer whose header from eight-yards out mad it 2-0 at 56:03.
The Cougars gave up their first goal of the season at 64:53, but held the Greyhounds without a shot over the final 25 minutes of play.
