The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a tough 4-0 decision against #12 Cortland, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Sarah Bogina made 12 saves in goal for the Cougars while keeping the Red Dragons off the board for nearly two quarters before allowing two scores late in the first half.
Cortland added two goals in the fourth quarter to extend their undefeated record to 5-0.
Lily Metress had a dangerous scoring chance in the first quarter for MU when
Delaney Miller fed her the ball in the circle before became entangled with Cortland's goalie just feet away from the goal.
MU had its best chance to shorten the lead when
Madison Blauch took the first corner of the game for the Cougars at the beginning of the fourth period.
Ava Cirigliano ripped a shot to the bottom left corner of the net but was blocked by the right foot of Cortland goalie Emma Morgan.
