Aiden Hidlay finished second at 285 pounds to lead four Misericordia University place-winners in their first appearance at the MAC Wrestling Championships, Saturday at King's.
Nikosh Marston was third at 133 pounds and
Michael Williams and
Robbie Anderson both finished fifth at 149 and 184, respectively.
Hidlay gave up a takedown to open his finals bout against Owen Reber of Alvernia and that proved to be the winning points in the 3-2 decision.
Hidlay escaped immediately and added an escape to open the second period, but was unable to score the tying point.
Marston advanced to the semifinals at 133 where he dropped a tough 7-5 decision to Caiden Heller of Messiah.
Marston led 3-2 after two periods, but gave up four near-fall points early in the third period.
He rebounded to win two straight bouts in the consolation bracket, including a 13-3 major decision of Logan Barkley of York in the third-place bout.
Williams dropped his semifinal bout to Chance Babb of Alvernia, 12-3. He beat Dalton Monger of Messiah, 11-3, in the fifth-place bout.
Anderson fell to top-seeded Joel Martsinovsky of in his opening bout, but came back to win two straight consolation matches.
He scored three takedowns in a 12-3 major decision over Branden Bulatao of Stevens in the fifth-place match.
Hidlay, the second seed at 285, fell behind 6-0 early in the first period of his opening match against John Farrell of York.
He recovered for a reversal and two back points before winning by fall at 2:34.
He beat third-seeded Micha Martinez of Messiah, 12-3, in the semifinals. After a scoreless first period, he gave a point on a technical violation to start the second period. He took a 2-1 lead with a reversal and made it 5-2 with a takedown near the end of the second period.
He added two takedowns in the third period to clinch the win.
The Cougars finished sixth in the team standings with 56.5 points Alvernia claimed five individual champions and the team title.
