The next honoree in the Misericordia Top 100 Student-Athletes of the Century countdown is #71 Liz (Kovalchik) Carden.

She was a four-year starter at goalie on the field hockey team and led the Cougars to four Pennsylvania Athletic Conference postseason berths.

She was a four-time All-PAC honoree, including two first-team selections.

She was the PAC Player of the Year and the Misericordia Wendy's Athlete of the Year as a senior.

Kovalchik owns school career records in wins (49), shutouts (26), save % (86.5) and saves (550) and ranks second all-time in goals against average (1.14).

In addition, she owns the school single-season wins record with 18 and shares the single-season shutout mark with 11.

She was inducted into the Misericordia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.
