The Misericordia University field hockey team extended its winning streak to seven games with a 5-0 win over King's, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Ava Cirigliano,
Delaney Miller,
Emily Ervin, Mckenna Ferris and
Riley Dwyer all scored goals as the Cougars improved to 11-2.

After a back-and-forth first quarter,
Madison Blauch dished the penalty corner to Cirigliano, who found the back of the net to give Misericordia a 1-0 lead at 13:43.

The Cougars continued the pressure early in the second quarter when Ervin connected with Miller who slipped the ball past the defense and into the net to make it 2-0 at 16:32.

Dwyer found herself in scoring position late in the second quarter taking a shot directly in front of the goal which was deflected by the goalkeeper, but Dwyer would not be denied a second time as she collected the ball and immediately cut it past the keeper and into the goal putting the Cougars up 3-0 at 27:52.

After each team took turns splitting penalty corners throughout the first 10 minutes of the third period, Miller returned the favor to Dwyer, dropping the ball off to her in front of the goal and Dwyer did not let the opportunity go to waste sinking it into the goal to put Misericordia up 4-0 at 44:41.

The Cougars scored their last goal early in the fourth quarter as
Madison Lasinski's shot attempt was stopped by the goalie, but Lasinski gathered the ball and dished it to Ferris who tallied her first career goal to increase the lead to 5-0 at 50:51.

Sara Bogina made one save to earn the shutout.
