The top-seeded Misericordia University women's soccer team will make its ninth straight MAC Freedom Championship game appearance when the Cougars host second-seeded Stevens, Saturday at 5:00 at Mangelsdorf Field. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA D-III Tournament.
The Cougars are four-time defending MAC Freedom champions and are facing Stevens in the finals for the fifth straight season.
Misericordia improved to 15-3-1 with a 3-0 win over Arcadia in the semifinals. Stevens is 10-3-6 after a 90th-minute goal lifted them to a 2-1 win semifinal win over Lebanon Valley.
Misericordia defeated Stevens, 1-0, during the regular season meeting a month ago.
The Cougars lead the league in scoring with 3.00 goals per game while Stevens is third with 1.95. MU leads the MAC Freedom with a 0.47 goals against average while Stevens is second at 0.68.
MU's
Olivia Maniskas (10g, 4a) is third in the league with 24 points while
Lily Heistand (7g, 3a) and
Caelan Gallagher (7g, 3a) are tied for seventh with 17 points.
Esa Mendola (6g, 3a) rounds out MU's balance attack in 10
th place in the MAC Freedom.
Lauren Mondor leads the league with a .527 goals against average.
For Stevens, Alana Odom (9g, 2a) is fifth in the league with 20 points.
Kenny Donley is second in the league with a .606 goals against average and is first in save % at 85.5.
