The Misericordia University men's wrestling team ended its first semester dual meet schedule with a 27-13 loss to D-I Bloomsburg, Tuesday night in the Anderson Center.

Robbie Anderson were all winners for MU.

Barreto and Marston gave MU two wins in the first three bouts for an early 6-4 lead.

Matas and Anderson won back-to-back at 174 and 184.

Barreto used a seven-point move late in the second period on the way to a come-from-behind 8-6 win in the opening bout.

Trailing 4-1, Barreto finished a double-leg takedown to tie the match and used a half-nelson to pick up four near fall points on the edge of the mat to take an 8-4 lead after two periods.

He gave a stalling point and a riding time point to win.

Bloom took a 4-3 lead with a major decision at 133, but Marston put the Cougars back in front with a 4-2 win at 141.

After a scoreless first period, both wrestlers earned an escape to forge a 1-1 tie late in the third period. Marston used a deep single-leg shot to earn a takedown with :11 remaining and allowed an escape in the closing seconds to win, 4-2.

The Huskies earned bonus points in the next three bouts with a major decision, pin and technical fall to take a 19-6 lead with four bouts remaining.

Matas picked up three takedowns and compiled more than four minutes of riding time to get MU back in the win column with an 11-2 major decision at 174.

Anderson escaped to start the second period and used a picture-perfect double-leg takedown to take a 4-0 lead 30 seconds later.

He added a single-leg takedown on the edge of circle early in the third period and earned a tiding time point to win 8-1 to get the Cougars with 19-13.

Bloom won by tech. fall at 197 and got a seven-point move on the edge of the mat for an 8-1 win in OT at 285.
