The Misericordia University men's wrestling team competed at the 92nd Annual Wilkes Open, Friday at the Marts Center.
Nikosh Marston and Jacob Weaver both went 3-2 to lead the Cougars.
After dropping his first match, Marston won three straight bouts in the consolation bracket at 141.
He rallied to beat teammate Cristian Pote, 10-6, in his first consolation bout.
Marston got a takedown and earned four sets of back points in a little over a minute for a 16-0 tech. fall over Khalil Boddle of Marymount in 2:21.
In the consolation quarterfinals, he escaped to start the third period and picked up a takedown for a come-from-behind 8-6 win over Ryan Mansueto of Eastern.
He was eliminated in a 14-7 loss to Mason Whitney in the consolation semis.
Weaver dropped his opening match to Sean Walker, 5-4.
He recorded six first-period takedowns on the way to a 20-5 technical fall win over Samuel Keppel for his first win in the consolation bracket.
He built a 13-2 lead before pinning Jose Lagunes in 4:07 and earned five takedowns in a 16-10 over Jonny Beckett of Eastern.
Weaver dropped a 10-0 major decision to Nicholas DeLorenzo in the consolation quarters.
