The Misericordia University men's wrestling team ended the regular season with a split of tri-match with Hunter and Wilkes, Saturday at the Anderson Field.

The Cougars beat Hunter, 51-0, before dropping a hard-fought 24-15 decision to Wilkes.Â

Anthony Matas (174) all won twice for the Cougars.

Marston used a front headlock to secure a late takedown for a 5-4 at 133 pounds in the feature bout against Hunter.

Jariel Severino got a single-leg takedown in the third period and maintained control the rest of the way to earn a riding time point to win 5-4 at 165 pounds.

Simeon Hunte (197) built a 12-5 lead after two periods and used a lateral drop to secure a fall early in the third period.

The nightcap featured plenty of excitement as Wilkes took six of 10 bouts, including come-from-behind wins.

After the Colonels got two late takedowns to secure a 7-6 win at 125 pounds, Marston earned a takedown in each period for a 10-3 win at 133 pounds.

Down 9-2 after three bouts, Williams put on a takedown clinic in a 19-5 major decision at 149.

Wilkes rallied late in the third period to win 9-8 at 157 to take a 12-6 lead.

Severino recorded four first-period takedowns and led 16-5 after two periods before picking a pin early in the third period at 165 pounds to the match, 12-12.

Matas was earned a dominant 9-3 win at 174 to put the Cougars in front, 15-12.

Wilkes won the final three bouts by major decision, technical fall and decision to clinch the 24-15 win.
