The Misericordia University men's track & field team is in third place after the opening day of the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, Friday at Alvernia.

MU's Richard Billings, Dylan Blackwell, Jacob Hunter and Joseph Vacchio set a school and MAC record while winning the 4x200 relay (1:29.70).

Matthieu Brunelle (7.09m) won the long jump while Jordan Pernell was eighth.

Stephen Rowley (15:25.69) was fifth at 5000m and Ryan Weber was eighth.

Stephen Gihr (14.73m) finished sixth in the weight throw.

Trey Rhinehart, Stephen Kieffer, Nathan Horn, Tavian McKenna (10:41.14) finished seventh in the 4000m DMR.

Billings set a school record (6.86) to advance to the 60 finals while Owen McGuffey advanced to the 60m hurdles finals.
