The Misericordia University men's volleyball team returned to action with a 3-0 win at Eastern, Wednesday night.
Anthony DePalma and
Jared Piontkowski led the Cougars with 12 kills. DePalma added three blocks while
Benjamin Clendening had six kills and three blocks.
Gannon DeFrain had 36 assists and nine digs.
The Cougars won 25-16, 25-13, 25-23 to improve to 17-8 overall and 3-1 in the MAC.
MU never trailed in the first set and got two kills from DePalma in a 5-1 run to take a 23-14 lead.
DePalma had three kills as the Cougars broke a 7-7 tie with an 8-2 run to take a 15-9 lead.
Piontkowski and Clendening had two kills each as the Cougars scored five straight points to increase the lead to 20-10.
Down 22-21 in the finale, the Cougars got a kill from DePalma and took advantage of three Eastern errors to close on a 4-1 run.
