The next honoree in the Misericordia Top 100 Student-Athletes of the Century countdown is #17 Sam (Helmstetter) Pocoroba.

She was a four-year starter at forward on the women's soccer team.

She was the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and a four-time first-team All-MAC Freedom selection.

She was a two-time MAC Freedom Player of the Year.

As a senior, she as an All-American, all-region and ECAC all-star and the Misericordia Wendy's Athlete of the Year.

She ranks second in career assists (34) and third with 122 career points. She is fifth in school history with 44 career goals.
 
She is fourth in career assists per game (.40), sixth in points per game (1.42) and tied for eight in career goals per game (.51).
 
Her 45 points and 18 goals as a senior are both the seventh-highest single-season total in school history and her 11 assists is tied for eighth.
 
She led the Cougars to the 2012 MAC Freedom title and a trip to the NCAA Final four.
 
She was inducted into the Misericordia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023.
