The Misericordia University men's golf team is tied for fourth after the opening round of the MAC Freedom Championships, Saturday at Shawnee on the Delaware.
 
The Cougars shot their lowest round of the year with a 316 and are just four shots out of third place.
 
Cameron Purrington is in a four-way tie for second place with a two-over par 74.
 
Brett Herman is tied for 17^th at 78 and Ryan Vallach is 22^nd at 80.  Matt Maransky shot 84 and is in 30^th place.
