Richard Billings was named the MAC Track Athlete of the Year while leading the Misericordia University men's track & field team to its best finish ever at the MAC Track & Field Championships, Saturday at York.

Billings set the MAC record to win at 200m (21.24) and was part of two school-records and winning relays while helping the Cougars to a runner-up finish in the team standings.

Billings also finished third at 100m (10.6), just .04 behind the winner.

Dylan Blackwell, Billings, Joe Vacchio and
Jacob Hunter started the day with a school record (41.6) to win the 4x100.

Billings,
Owen McGuffey,
Stephen Kieffer and
Jacob Hunter won the 4x400 with another school record (3:15.83).
Â
Hunter was second by .01 at 400m (47.2) and finished fourth at 200m.
Â
Trey Rhinehart (14:51.14) finished second at 5000m while
Thomas Bricker and
Stephen Rowley were seventh and eighth, respectively.

Owen McGuffey was second in the 400m hurdles (55.18) and 110m hurdles (15.08) with school records in both events.Â
Harrison Follett was fifth in the 400m hurdles.

Matthieu Brunelle finished third in the triple jump (14.08m) and
Brayden Brown was sixth in the shot put (14.17m).

Kyle Suponcic was named co-Assistant Coach of the Year.
