The #7 Misericordia University women's soccer team picked up its third straight shutout victory with a 4-0 blanking of Moravian, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Esabella Mendola scored a pair of first-half goals and
Caelan Gallagher and
Paige Adams added insurance goals in the second half.

The Cougars dominated play throughout as they fired 14 shots each in half while allowing just one shot for the Greyhounds.

After a few near-misses in the early going, Mendola collected a long pass, turned and beat two defenders to fire a laser into the upper right corner for a 1-0 lead at 15:32.

Larissa Evans blast from 35 yards out was denied by a diving save to keep MU's lead at 1-0 midway through the first half.

Mendola struck again when she buried
Olivia Maniskas' feed from the left flank into the upper left corner to give MU a 2-0 lead at 30:25.

Misericordia's offensive pressure continued throughout the second half.

Evans created space and fired a shot on goal from 25 yards out less than five minutes into the second half.

Mendola's one-touch from six yards out was denied at 56:23 and her header was just wide of the left post at 58:31.

Kimberly Rudy's serve from outside the top left corner of the box found Gallagher in front where her header floated just under the crossbar to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead at 67:26.

Misericordia closed out the scoring off a corner with less than 10 minutes remaining.Â
Charlotte Wendt gathered a loose ball and took a shot through traffic. After the initial save by the Moravian keeper, Adams buried the rebound to make it 4-0 at 80:30.
