The Misericordia University women's soccer team clinched a first-round home game in the MAC Freedom championships with its seventh straight win, 1-0, at DeSales, Saturday.
Larissa Evans scored the only goal of the game with an assist from Kayleigh Horos at 48:13.
MU dominated the statistics with 23 shots, including eight on goal, while holding DeSales to just two shots on goal.
Horos' shot from 12 yards out caromed off a DeSales defender and Evans one-timed the rebound inside the left post from just outside the box.
Evans nearly got the Cougars on the board just over a minute into the second half when her shot from 25 yards out hit the crossbar.
Horos found space between two defenders just 30 seconds later and rolled a shot just wide of the right post.
