The Misericordia University field hockey team advanced to the MAC Freedom semifinals with an impressive 4-0 win over Arcadia, Monday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Madison Lasinski scored a pair of fourth-quarter goals and Madison Blauch and Delaney Miller added goals.
Jordan Nonnemacher made three saves to earn the shutout.
After a scoreless first period, Blauch got the Cougars on the board late in the second period. Blauch's first shot was denied as was Elizabeth Maurer's rebound, but Blauch lifted her second attempted over the Arcadia goalie for a 1-0 lead with 5:44 to before halftime.
The Cougars had two good chances to extend their lead midway through the third period. Lasinski dribbled in from the left flank and ripped a shot just wide of the right post from 10 yards out.
Less than a minute later, Celeste Hoffman intercepted a pass inside the circle and rolled a shot wide right.
MU made it 2-0 when Miller stripped the ball off a Knight's stick, dribbled around a defender and blasted a shot inside the right post from 15 yards out with 4:38 to go in the third period.
Misericordia added an insurance goal early in the fourth quarter. Maurer's shot in front was saved and Celeste Hoffman touched the rebound to Lasinski whose shot from five yards out deflected of the goalie's blocker for a 3-0 lead with 10:22 to go.
Lasinski struck again four minutes later when she took a long pass from Ava Cirigliano, beat a defender down the left side, cut back to the middle and beat the goalie near the left post to make it 4-0 with 5:46 to go.
Misericordia will travel to top-seeded Stevens, Wednesday at 4:00.
