The Misericordia University men's volleyball team swept a tri-match with #18 Buffalo State and Manhattanville, Saturday on Doc Mould Court.
The Cougars swept Buffalo State to avenge a 3-1 loss from a month ago and followed with a sweep of Manhattanville.
Christopher U'Glay had 10 kills and four aces while
Benjamin Clendening had four blocks and three aces.
Noah Reen had six kills, two aces and three blocks.
Andrew George and
Evan Schmidt both had 16 assists.
The Cougars jumped out to a 7-2 lead and never trailed in the opening set against Buffalo State.
U'Glay had a kill and ace to extend MU's lead to 16-9 and added a kill later in the set to make it 22-13.
In the second set, U'Glay had an ace to help give MU a 12-7 lead.
The teams traded points the rest of the way until the Cougars closed out a 25-18 win on kills from
Jackson Fehnel,
Joe Kozak and U'Glay.
Kozak had a kill and an ace to key a 6-0 run to give the Cougars a 24-18 lead in the finale.
Jacob McCue had nine kills, three blocks and three aces against Manhattanville and
Logan Romeika added nine kills.
Isaac Drake had eight kills and three aces and
Tyler Knoop and
Noah Reen added three blocks.
Evan Schmidt had 16 assists and
Andrew George had 14.
McCue and Romeika had kills as the Cougars took a 20-10 lead in the opener against Manhattanville.
The Valiants charged back to get within 24-21 before McCue sealed the win with a kill.
Reen had two aces to key a 6-0 run to give MU a 16-8 lead in the second set and Romeika closed the set with a kill and an ace.
Romeika had three straight kills and McCue had two aces as the Cougars scored six straight points to take a 22-13 lead in the finale.
