The Misericordia University men's wrestling team ended its second season with five wrestlers earning all-region status at the NCAA Region 3 Championships, Saturday in Ewing, NJ.

Michael Williams (149) and
Aiden Hidlay (285) both finished fourth while
Anthony Matas (174) was fifth.Â
Jaydin Barreto (125) was sixth and
Robbie Anderson (184) was seventh.

The Cougars finished 10
th in the 21-team field with 70 points.

Williams opened the day with a tough 4-1 loss to eventual champion Thomas Monn of McDaniel.

He rebounded with an 8-6 win over in the consolation semis before dropping a 6-4 decision in the consie final.

Hidlay lost to Mohamed Abdelatty of Ursinus in the morning semifinals, 9-5, but rebounded with a seven-point third period on the way to a 14-8 win in the consolation semifinals.

He lost 10-4 in the third-place bout.

Barreto cruised to a 17-4 win the consolation quarterfinals before dropping two straight matches to finish sixth.

Matas opened the day with an overtime takedown to win 6-3 in the consolation quarters, but lost 12-8 in the semis. He built a 12-4 lead after two periods on the way to a 14-10 win in the fifth-place bout.

Anderson lost 4-1 in overtime in his first match of the day, but scored 12 points in the third period to win, 12-0, in the seventh-place match.
