The Misericordia University STUNT team split a pair of games against D-II opponents on the second day of the Ashland University STUNT Invitational, Sunday in Ashland, OH.
In game one, the Cougars fell to #10 Malone University. Trailing by six points at halftime, the Cougars rallied in the third and matched points with Malone.
Malone executed well in the fourth quarter and outscored the Cougars, 13-5, to clinch a 28-13 win.
Power Player of the Game for MU was Emma Conner who helped secure nine of MU's 13 points.
Alex Koch was awarded tumbler of the game for her contributions and consistency throughout all routines while
Zoey Jones was named Stunter of the Game for her presence on the mat in the higher level Partner Stunts and Pyramid/Tosses routines.Â
In game two, the Cougars took an early lead and entered halftime with 7-3 lead. The Cougars continued to put points on the board in the second half, but Walsh executed well and closed the gap.
The Cougars pulled out a 15-14 win.
Player of the Game was
Audry Weiss after her efforts contributed to 13 of MU's 15 points.
Rachel Kowal earned Tumbler of the Game with appearances in six of the seven tumbling routines. Ally Moyer was involved in every routine for Partner Stunts, Pyramids, and Tosses during the final game of the invitational and her strength as a back spot plays a key role in the Cougars' success.Â
The Player of the Tournament was
Anna Mellody for her consistent contribution to points earned and round played in Stunts, Pyramids and Tosses.Â
