The Misericordia University men's volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-1 at Widener, Wednesday night.

The Cougars won their ninth straight match to improve to 18-12 overall and 5-3 in the MAC while clinching a home game in the first round of the MAC Tournament.

Christopher U'Glay led the Cougars with 16 kills and four aces and
Jackson Fehnel and
Isaac Griffin added 13 kills each.

Fehnel had three blocks and
Benjamin Clendening had three blocks and three aces.Â
Logan Romeika and
Joe Kozak added three blocks each.

Evan Schmidt had 29 assists and
Andrew George had 17 assists and two aces.

Richie Ragonese had 11 digs.

U'Glay hit .429 for the match while Griffin hit .423.

The Cougars took the first two sets, 26-24, 25-22 before Widener avoided the sweep with a 26-24 win. MU closed out the match with a 25-13 win in game four.

Down 23-21 in the opening set, the Cougars scored three straight points on a Widener service error, a kill by Romeika and an ace by George.

Widener tied it, but Fehnel won it with a kill and an ace.

MU led throughout most of the second set and held off a late Widener rally with kills by U'Glay and Fehnel.

Facing match-point, Widener scored three straight points stay alive with a 26-24 win in the third set.

Clendening had a pair of aces as the Cougars overcame and early 5-4 deficit with an 8-1 run to take a 12-6 lead.

Fehnel had two kills and U'Glay had two aces as the Cougars closed the match on a 9-2 run.
