The Misericordia University STUNT team cruised to an 18-6 win over Maryville College (TN) in the opening game of the College STUNT National Championships, Thursday afternoon in Nashville, TN.

The Cougars dominated the first half as they won seven of the first eight rounds to take an 8-2 halftime lead.

MU took two of three points awarded in the third quarter and took eight of nine points in the first two rounds of the fourth quarter to end the game.

Natalee Johnson helped put points on the board during her jump and tumbling routines and was named the tumbler of the game.Â

Allyson Moyer appeared in every round of the partner stunts, pyramids and tosses and earned Stunter of the game.

Anna Mellody was the player of the game after playing a role in securing 15 points while appearing in all four quarters.

The Cougars will face top-seeded Muskingum, Friday at 2:45 (CT).
