The Misericordia University athletics department opened D-III Week with its annual Scholar-Athlete luncheon, Monday, April 6.

In addition to recognizing more than 300 student-athletes with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40, MU also named
Jenna Schuda and
Gavin Morris its 2025-26 Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

Schuda holds a 3.91 grade point average as a speech language pathology major and is a senior on the women's volleyball team while Morris carries a 3.42 as a health science major and is a senor football player.

Schuda was named MAC Freedom Player of the Year for the second consecutive year after leading the Cougars to the MAC Freedom title game for the second straight season.

Schuda earned AVCA All-Region status and was an AVCA honorable mention All-American.

She was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators and was named to the Academic All-MAC team in addition to being selected as the MAC Women's Volleyball Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Morris, a senior linebacker, led the Cougars to a 7-4 record and a berth in the MAC-Centennial Bowl.

He was a first-team All-MAC selection and was named second-team all-region by D3football.com.

Morris was named Academic All-District by CSC and was chosen to the Academic All-MAC team.
