Former Misericordia University athletics standouts Brianna Pizzano and Frank Redmond will be inducted into the Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame, Sunday, June 7.
Pizzano was a four-year standout on the MU tennis team where she suffered just one regular season loss throughout her collegiate career.
She was a four-time MAC Freedom Player of the Year after playing all four seasons at first singles and first doubles.
She was the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and was a two-time MAC champion at first singles in the last two years of the tournament's existence.Â
She was the MAC champion at first doubles as a first year and was the MAC runner-up at first doubles as a sophomore.
She led the Cougars to back-to-back MAC Freedom finals appearances and was ranked 36
th among MU's Top-100 student-athletes of the century.
Redmond was a standout in track & field cross country for the Cougars. He was a three-time NCAA qualifier in track & field and earned All-America status with a fifth-place finish at 800m as a junior.Â
He holds the school indoor and outdoor records at 800m and the indoor 1000m.Â
He was a four-time all-conference performer in cross country.

He won two MAC track & field championships and one ECAC title while finishing second in the MAC five times and recording two ECAC runner-up finishes.
He was inducted into the Misericordia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021 and was ranked 20
th in the MU's Top-100 Athletes of the Century.
