The #20 nationally-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team earned a 3-0 victory over Wilkes, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

Ella Cipriani led the Cougars with a goal and an assist while
Kaleigh Horos and Ally Steenback both added goals.

Julia Hayward and
Larissa Evans both recorded an assist.

The first half was a defensive battle as neither team could find the back of the net.

Misericordia found its stride throughout the first half and held a 10-1 edge in shots over the first 45 minutes.

Evans put the first shot on target for the Cougars in the 12th minute, followed by a second shot on goal in the 16th minute.

Hayward got a great look across the middle in the 28
th minute, but the Wilkes keeper made the save.

MU got it going early in the second half as Evans found Cipriani cutting down the middle for a quick goal just 13 seconds into the half to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

Misericordia kept the pressure on, leading to another score as Cipriani got the ball deep in the right corner and played it over the middle to Horos, who drilled it into the top-left corner from 30 yards out to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 67th minute.

With just over four minutes remaining, Hayward dribbled into the right corner and sent a perfect ball through the box across the goal to Steenback who poked a shot into the upper left corner for a 3-0 lead.

Marisa Patrissi recorded two saves in the shutout.
