2023 Baseball
Misericordia Baseball finished 40-15 to set a school record for wins in a season. The Cougars earned their first at-large bid and made their 11th NCAA appearance in 12 years. 

The Cougars captured the NCAA Regional title at Tambur Field and the Super Regional Title. They ended their season with the D-III World Series.
 
The Misericordia baseball team was ranked seventh in the d3baseball.com poll and eighth in the Collegiate Baseball/ABCA final 2023 rankings. 

David McCurry, Derrick Vosburg, Brady Madden, Garrett Mcllhenney and Brock Bollinger made the All-MAC Freedom first team while Jason Sanfilippo was named to the second team. 

Madden was named the MAC Baseball Senior Scholar-Athlete. 

Steve Rinda, McCurry, Madden, Sanfilippo and Max Oliver were named to the 2023 Academic All-District team. 

Mcllhenney and Bollinger were named to the d3baseball.com All-Region IV Team. Mcllhenney was a second-team selection and Bollinger earned third-team honors. 

McIlhenney led the nation in three statistical categories, including a .591 on-base percentage, 80 runs scored and 33 hit-by-pitches. He was second in the country with 53 walks and fourth with 46 stolen bases and set school single-season records in all five categories. In addition, McIlhenney reached base safely in all 55 games this season and currently owns the third-longest streak in D-III history at 75 games.

Mclllenney was named 2022-23 Misericordia University Wendy's Athlete of the year. 

Bollinger, Mcllhenney and Vosburg were all named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region IV third-team. 

Vosburg set a school record with 64 RBI.
 
Connor Maryniak was named to the ABCA Region IV All-Defensive team. 

Vosburg and Mcllhenney were named to the MAC All-Academic team. 

The Cougars set an NCAA (all divisions) single-season record  with 163 hit-by-pitches and ranked among the top 15 teams in the nation in stolen bases (157), runs (477), on-base percentage (.447), hits (570) and walks (256).

Coach Pete Egbert was the American Baseball Coaches Association ATEC 2023 Region IV Coach of the Year.


2022 Baseball 
The Cougars finished 28-17 and was the MAC Freedom runner up. 

Brock Bollinger and Garrett Mcllhenney were both named to the All-MAC Freedom first-team. Derrick Vosburg, Brady Madden and Connor Maryniak were named second-team. Joe Comins earned honorable mention. Maryniak was named Rookie of the Year. 

Maryniak was named to the D3baseball.com all-region team.
 
Bollinger and Mcllhenney each earned All-ECAC status. Bollinger was first-team selection while Mcllhenney earned honorable mention. 

This season earned Coach Pete Egbert his 500th win.


2021 Baseball 
The Cougars won their tenth straight MAC Freedom Championship while finishing third in the NCAA St. Paul Regional Tournament. They finished 31-10 overall. 

Tyler Leonard and Sean Boylan were named first-team All-MAC Freedom while Brendan Gray, Derrick Vosburg, Brady Madden and Dante Salerno were named second team and Joe Liscio earned honorable mention. 

Boylan and Gray were named to the 2021 d3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region team. 

Boylan had seven home runs which tied for sixth all-time in school history. He set a school single-season record with 55 RBI. 

Boylan was also named to the d3baseball.com 2021 All-America Team and earned Misericordia University Wendy's Athlete of the Year. 

Madden, Boylan and Gray were named to the 2021 ABCA/Rawlings All-Region team. Madden made first-team while Boyland and Gray earned second-team honors. 

Off the field, Boylan was named to the 2021 Academic All-America Division III baseball team and the Academic All-District team.


2020 Baseball 
Season canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 


2019 Baseball
The Cougars finished their season at 35-13 in the NCAA Division III South Super Regional at Tambur Field. They won their ninth straight MAC Freedom championship. 

Kenny Jarema was the MAC Freedom Player of the Year while Ian McCole was the Pitcher of the Year. They were joined on the All-MAC Freedom first team by Tyler Holzapfel, Steve Weisensee and Kyle Melahn. 
Billy Kerwien made All-MAC Freedom second-team while Tom Jacob and Brady Madden earned honorable mention. 

Jarema was voted ECAC Player of the Year while McCole was chosen Pitcher of the Year. They were joined on the first-team by Weisensee while Melahn was named an honorable mention. 

McCole's 13 starts and 86.1 innings pitched are both new school single-season records. His eight wins are the fifth-highest single-season total in school history.

Jarema was named the Misericordia Wendy's Athlete of the Year after being second in the nation in on-base % and third in walks. He broke his own school record with 50 walks and extended his career school record to 177 walks. His .576 on-base percentage was the second-best in school history and he finished second with a career on-base percentage of .516. Jarema finished second in school history with 185 runs scored and third with 218 hits. 

Melahan was a first-team selection for the D3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region team while teammates McCole and Jarema were named second-team and third-team respectively. 

McCole was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Team. 

Jarema earned D3baseball.com All-American third-team honors. 


2018 Baseball 
For the first time in school history, the Misericordia Baseball team made it to the Division III College World Series after capturing their first NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional title. They also became just the second team in the Middle Atlantic Conference history to earn a win at the College World Series.    

The Cougars finished the season with a 37-15 record, earning the second most wins in program history and they claimed their eighth straight MAC Freedom title. 

MU capped off the best season in program history with its highest ranking ever at number seven in the d3baseball.com national poll. 

Parker Abate, Santo Guinta, Kenny Jarema, Drake Koch, Kyle Melahn, Steve Weisensee, Tyler Holzapfel and Ian McCole were all named to the All-MAC Freedom second team. 

Head coach Pete Egbert was named All-MAC Freedom co-Coach of the Year as he went over the 400-win plateau for his career. 

Jarema was named second-team All-ECAC while Egbert was named Coach of the Year. 

Jarema set a new program record with 52 games played, making 51 starts at third base. He also set a new Misericordia school-record with 49 walks to total at 127 walks in a career. He tied the program record with 60 runs scored. 

Jarema was second in the nation with 49 walks. 

Melahn was named to the American Baseball Coach's Association/Rawlings All Mid-Atlantic Regional second team. He set a school single-season record with 28 appearances and tied for the school record with eight saves in a single season. 

McCole was named to the d3baseball.com All-Tournament team. 

Koch was named the Mid-Atlantic Regional Most Outstanding Player. He was joined by Melahn, Dan Zurowski, Holzapfel and Alec Iurato. 

The Cougars led the country in hit by pitch (117) and are sixth in walks (254). 


2017 Baseball 
The Misericordia Baseball team ended their 2016 season in the NCAA Mideast Regional. The Cougars finished 30-14 and collected their seventh straight MAC Freedom title and NCAA Tournament appearance. 

Tim Burek was named the MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Year and was named to the All-MAC Freedom first-team while first baseman Tyler Holzapfel was the Rookie of the Year and was named to the second-team. 

Tim Kurtz was named to the second-team as a pitcher while Kenny Jarema and Steve Weisensee earned second-team honors at shortstop and outfield. 

Burek was named to the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Region first-team. Kurtz and Holzapfel were named to the third-team. 

Burek was named to the d3baseball.com All-Mid Atlantic Region second-team. 

Burek's nine wins and 77 strikeouts were both the second-highest single-season total in school history. He finished third in school history with 155 career strikeouts and tied for third with 19 victories. He is tied for fifth in career ERA at 3.07. 

Burek and Holzapfel were honored by the Eastern Sports Athletics Conference. Burek was named first-team All ECAC North while Holzapfel was Rookie of the Year. 


2016 Baseball 
The Cougars finished the season 34-12 and captured their sixth consecutive MAC Freedom championship. They hosted the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at PNC Field. 

Cory Vogeli, Kyle Lindsay and D.J. Navoczynski was named to the All-MAC Freedom first team. Jeremy DeCotiis was named to the second team while Alec Iurato and Elliot Forde were named honorable mention. 

Vogeli was named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and was named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 

Navoczynski was named to the d3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region third-team. His 49 RBI are the fourth-highest single-season total in school history. He was named to the ECAC South All-Star first-team. 

Mike Comerford and Lindsay were named to the American Baseball Coach's Association/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region team. Comerford was named to the second team while Lindsay made the third team. 

Comerford led the team in slugging percentage (.549) and total bases (96) and tied for the team lead with 14 doubles and 14 stolen bases. 

Lindsay became Misericordia's all-time leader in hits (243) and runs (189). 

Vogeli was named to the Academic All-America Division III Baseball Team, as selected by the CoSIDA. He was named to the first-team for the second consecutive year. 

Vogeli ended his career as MU's all-time leader with 60 appearances and ranks second in wins (20) and strikeouts (202). He is fourth in career ERA at 2.83. 

Vogeli and Lindsay were named MAC All-Academic. 
 

2015 Baseball 
The Cougars finished their season 31-13. They completed their fifth consecutive season with 30 or more games won and a Freedom Conference Championship/NCAA Tournament berth. The Cougars finished fourth at the Mid-Atlantic Regional. 

Cory Vogeli was named Freedom Conference of the Year and was joined on the first-team All-Freedom by Ryan Dorosh, Chris Boroch, Kyle Lindsay and Mike Comerford. 

D.J. Navoczynski and Garrett Pelko earned honorable mention. 

Boroch, Vogeli and Dorosh were named to the d3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic All-Region team. Boroch was named first-team at shortshop while Vogeli was a first-team selection as a starting pitcher. Dorosh made second-team as a starting pitcher. 

Boroch, Vogeli and Dorosh were named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DIvision III Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team. Vogeli was named first-team, Dorosh was named second-team and Boroch was third-team. 

Vogeli was named to the d3baseball.com All-American team as an honorable mention and the COSIDA Capital One Academic All-America Division III Baseball Team as first-team. 

Vogeli was 8-0 with a 1.14 earned run average, the second-lowest single-season mark in school history. His 63 strikeouts led the team and were the third-highest in school history. He moved into first place in career ERA (2.35) at Misericordia and is second in career strikeouts (138) and appearances (49). 

Boroch led the team with 67 hits, the second-highest single-season total in school history. 

Vogeli and Boroch were named to the Eastern College Athletics Conference All-Star team. Boroch was named first-team while Vogeli made second-team. 

Vogeli and Boroch were named to the CoSIDA Cpaital One Academic All-District team and the MAC All-Academic team. 


2014 Baseball
The Cougars finished 31-15-1 and won their fourth consecutive Freedom Conference championship/NCAA Tournament berth.
 
Misericordia hosted the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at PNC Field for the second straight season and finished fourth.
 
Ryan Dorosh was named Freedom Conference Pitcher of the Year and was joined by Kyle Lindsay and Mike Comerford on the first-team.
 
Tim Burek, Corey Lee and Chris Boroch were second-team All-Freedom.
 
Dorosh was the d3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year.
 
Dorosh and Lindsay were first-team d3baseball.com All-Region while Comerford was second team.
 
Dorosh was a second-team d3baseball.com All-American and Lindsay was honorable mention.
 
Dorosh was a third-team ABCA All-American.
 
Dorosh was the ECAC South Pitcher of the Year and first-team All-ECAC along with Lindsay while Comerford was second team.
 
Lindsay and Comerford had the third-highest single-season doubles (18) total in school history.
 
Comerford cracked the single-season top 10 for homers, total bases, RBI and runs and Boroch had the fifth-highest runs scored total in school history (51).
 
Jeremy DeCotiis set the school record for HBP (21) while Lindsay, Al Reda and Boroch were in the top 10.
 
Joe Tagliarini finished his career as the all-time leader in put outs (1,183).
 
Dorosh tied the school record for wins (10) and set single-season (92) and career records (151) for strikeouts.
 
Dorosh was the team MVP and Lindsay received the Coach's Award.

2013 Baseball
The Cougars set a school record for wins (39-11) and won their third consecutive Freedom Conference championship/NCAA Tournament berth.
 
Misericordia hosted the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at PNC Field and finished third.
 
Kenny Durling, Evan Robaczewski, were named first-team All-Freedom.   Ryan Dorosh, Cory Vogeli, Andrew Tressa, Kyle Lindsay and Steve Sulcoski were named second-team All-Freedom.
 
Robaczewski was named Freedom Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive year.
 
Tressa (1st team), Robaczewski (2nd team) and Durling (3rd team) were d3baseball.comAll-Region.
 
Tressa and Durling were first-team ABCA All-Region while Robaczewski was third team.
 
Robaczewski, Slanovec and Karabin were named d3baseball.com All-Region.  Robaczewski and Slanovec were named ABCA All-Region.
 
Tressa was the team MVP and Robaczewski received the Coach's Award.
 
Lindsay was the MVP of the Freedom Championships.
 
Matt Karabin was Academic All-District.
 
Durling and Sulcoski set the school single-season records for RBI (54).
 
Tressa set the single-season record for HBP (18) and career marks for HBP (36) and assists (414).
 
Joe Tagliarini broke his own school single-season (387) and career (1031) records for putouts and Ryan Cacchioli broke his own school single-season record for assists (146).
 
Vogeli set the single-season record for appearances (21) and Robaczewski set the single-season record for strikeouts (70) and career mark for wins (19).
 
Durling set career marks for games (179), at bats (643), hits (234), doubles (63), total bases (405) and RBI (175).



2012 Baseball

The Cougars set a school record for wins (36-10) and won their second consecutive Freedom Conference championship/NCAA Tournament berth.

MU was ranked nationally throughout the season and finished 21st, according to d3baseball.com.
 
Kenny Durling, Evan Robaczewski, Matt Karabin and Gabe Noyalis were named first-team All-Freedom while Jeff Slanovec was named second-team All-Freedom.
 
Robaczewski was named Freedom Pitcher of the Year while Durling was a first-team ECAC, ABCA and d3baseball.com All-Region selection and an ABCA and d3baseball.com All-American.

Robaczewski, Slanovec and Karabin were named d3baseball.com All-Region.  Robaczewski and Slanovec were named ABCA All-Region.
 
Robaczewski was the team MVP and Durling received the Coach's Award.
 
Slanovec was the MVP of the Freedom Championships and was a third-team Academic All-American.

Durling set school single-season records for total bases (113) and RBI (52).  He tied the career record for doubles (45).

Joe Tagliarini set school single-season (351) and career (644) records for putouts and Ryan Cacchioli set a school single-season record for assists (145).
 
Robaczewski set a school single-season record for wins (10) and Pat Clark set the career mark for wins (17) and innings pitched (217).
 
Karabin had the second-lowest ERA (1.40) in school history and became the all-time leader (2.38).


2011 Baseball
 
The Cougars finished 30-16 and won the Freedom Conference championship and reached the winner's bracket final at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.
 
Kenny Durling, Andrew Tressa, Pat Clark and Matt Karabin were named first-team All-Freedom, while Pete Egbert was named Coach of the Year.
 
Durling was a first-team ECAC All-Star. 
 
Nate Newman and Andy Gonzalez were second-team All-Freedom.
 
Newman was a first-team ABCA All-Region selection. Clark made the third team and Durling was a Rawlings Gold Glove winner.
 
Durling was the team MVP. Newman earned the Coach's Award and was the MVP of the Freedom Championships.
 
Durling tied the school single-season record with 110 total bases while Newman set a school single-season record with a .50 earned run average.
 
Clark set school single-season records for wins (8), innings (80) and strikeouts (58) and Matt Karabin set a school single-season record with seven saves.
 
Newman ended his career as the all-time leader in games (165), at bats (609), hits (215), home runs (32), total bases (374), runs (161), RBI (154) and stolen bases (70).



2010 Baseball
 

Under third-year head coach Pete Egbert, the Cougars finished 21-18, including taking two of three from Freedom Conference champion Manhattanville.
 
Nate Newman was a first-team All-Freedom Conference selection for the second straight season.
 
Newman set a school single-season record with 13 home runs and tied his own single-season RBI record with 47.
 
Newman set Misericordia career records for home runs (22) and stolen bases (51). He finished second in career hits (165), total bases (276) and RBI (118).
 
Jamie Philippi set the school career record for hit by pitches (18). Philippi finished third in career strikeouts (125).
 
Chris Tuttle (164) and Andrew Yasinski (163) finished second and third, respectively, in single-season total chances/error.
 
Newman was the team MVP while freshman Andrew Tressa was the Coach's Award winner.
 
Philippi was the only four-year letter winner on the team. Anthony Goncalves, Scott Huddle, Newman and Yasinski were also seniors.

 

 
2009 Baseball
 
Under second-year head coach Pete Egbert, the Cougars finished 22-18 and set a school record for victories in the NCAA era (1990-present).
 
Mike Murphy and Nate Newman were first-team All-Freedom Conference selections. Both were 2nd-team All-ECAC.
 
Newman was a second-team ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection. Murphy made the third team.
 
Murphy set school single-season records for hits (71), triples (7), runs (60), walks (42) and stolen bases (30) and career records for triples (12), walks (42) and stolen bases (45). He reached base in all 40 games and ended his career with a 67-game on-base streak.
 
Murphy and Jamie Philippi set a school record for hit by pitches (7).
 
Newman set a single-season record for total bases (110) and tied the mark for home runs (9).
 
Brandon Calafut set single-season and career records for doubles (21/45) and broke the all-time mark for putouts (567).
 
Calafut and Newman set a single-season record for RBI (47). Calafut finished second in career RBI (112).
 
Steve Peet set school career records for innings pitched (193.2) and appearances (48) and tied the record for career strikeouts (135).
 
Despite narrowly missing a Freedom playoff berth, the Cougars split a pair of games with conference champion Alvernia and swept two from fourth-seeded King's.
 
Murphy was the team MVP while Newman was the Coach's Award winner.
 
Mike D'Amara finished second all-time in games played (137) and stolen bases (44).
 
Murphy, D'Amara, Calafut, Peet and Cody Hack were honored as four-year letterman.



 

2008 Baseball

The Cougars finished 15-26-1 and made the PAC playoffs under first-year head coach Pete Egbert.
 
Mike Murphy was a first-team All-PAC selection and was named to the ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team.
 
Jamie Philippi and Nate Newman were second-team All-PAC, and Mike D'Amara was honorable mention.
 
Egbert was the PAC Coach of the Year.
 
Murphy was the team MVP, while Brandon Calafut was the Coach's Award winner.
 
Murphy, Newman and Chriss Messa set a school single-season record for games played (42).
 
Murphy set single season records for hits (61) and walks (42) and tied the record for runs scored (44).
 
Messa set the school record for at-bats (168) and assists (122).

 



2007 Baseball

The Cougars finished 5-31.
 
Jamie Philippi was named second-team All-PAC and was the PAC Rookie of Year.
 
Philippi was also named team MVP.
 
Ryan Savka earned All-PAC honorable mention status and also received the Coach's Award.
 
Darren St. Clair set a school single-season record with seven hit by pitches.



 

2006 Baseball

The Cougars finished 4-36 under second-year head coach Josh Tehonica.
 
Terrence Mull was named first-team All-PAC and was selected as the team MVP.
 
Brian Valonis received the Coach's Award set a school single-season record with 40 games played
 
John Stravinski set a school record with 17 appearances on the mound.
 
Mull set a MU career record for hit by pitches (14).
 
Valonis, Mull, Ralph Vance and Brett Hansen were honored as four-year lettermen.

 

2005 Baseball

The Cougars finished 18-20-1 under first year head coach Josh Tehonica.  CM qualified for the PAC playoffs for the third straight season after finishing second during the regular season.
 
Harold Knebel set CM records for career games played (139), hits (189), doubles (44), triples (11), home runs (21), total bases (318), runs (151), RBI (119), stolen bases (39), assists (383). He set single-season records for stolen bases (23) and assists (105).
 
Evan Bardua became the toughest hitter to strike out in school history (16.2 at bats).
 
Jerry Lukach became CM's all-time strikeout leader (135). He set single-season marks for innings (65) and strikeouts (53).
 
Knebel and Brian Valonis set a school record for games played in a season (39).
 
Andrew Mikowski set single season records for at bats (156) and triples (6).
 
Josh Kendrick, Mikowski and Lukach were named first-team All-PAC, while Justin Fowler was second-team and Knebel was honorable mention. Chris Orner was on the All-PAC sportsmanship team.
 
Knebel was the team MVP while Fowler received the Coach's Award.
 
Knebel, Bardua, Fowler, Orner and Zach Kepczynski were honored as four-year letter winners. Rob Lozenski and Mikowski were also seniors.



 

2004 Baseball

The Cougars finished 20-15 and qualified for the PAC playoffs for the second straight season.
 
Matt O'Brien set a school record for career games played (135). Andrew Mikowski and George LoPresto tied the school single-season record (35).
 
O'Brien also become CM's career leader in hits (157), runs scored (115) and assists (303).
 
Harold Knebel set single season records for runs (44) and is CM's all-time leader in triples (8), homers (19), batting average (.401), slugging percentage (.702) and total bases (247).
 
LoPresto tied the school single-season record for RBI (41).
 
Evan Bardua moved into first place on CM's career list for at bats per strikeout (15.8).
 
Terrence Mull is the all-time leader in total chances per error (227).
 
Knebel became the first CM player to earn PAC player of the year honors.
 
Knebel and LoPresto were named to the ABCA All-Regional team.
 
Knebel, LoPresto and O'Brien were named first-team All-PAC while Bardue, Mull and Justin Fowler were second team.
 
Knebel was the team MVP while O'Brien earned the Coach's Award.
 

 

2003 Baseball

The Cougars enjoyed their best season in the "modern" era with a 21-14 record. MU qualified for the PAC playoffs and made their first appearance in the ECAC playoffs.
 
Albie Biggs set career records for complete games, wins and strikeouts. He set a single season record for innings pitched.
 
Harold Knebel set school records with nine home runs, 95 total bases and 43 runs. He is CM's career leader in slugging percentage.
 
Knebel and Matt O'Brien set a school record with 35 games played.
 
Biggs was named first team All-PAC and was the PAC "Pitcher of the Year".
 
O'Brien and Evan Bardua were second team and Knebel earned an honorable mention.
 
Biggs was the team MVP, and Greg Stanislow earned the Coach's Award
 
Biggs was the only senior on the team.



 

2002 Baseball

The Cougars finished the season 19-10 overall and 11-10 in the PAC. MU finished one game behind Wesley for the final PAC playoff berth, despite sweeping a three-game series to end the season.
 
Jonmichael Vito and Ed Piekara set a school record with 34 games played.
 
Matt O'Brien set school records with 35 runs scored and 132 at bats.
 
Ray Zawisza ended his career as the school's all-time leader in fielding percentage (.995) and total chances/error (217).
 
Vito set a record for total chanced without an error (184) in a season.
 
Justin Fowler finished sixth in the PAC in batting, while Ed Piekara was fifth in the PAC in ERA and George LoPresto was 10th.
 
Piekara was named first-team All-PAC in the outfield and second-team All-PAC as a pitcher. Fowler was second-team and Evan Bardua was honorable mention.
 
Piekara, Vito, Zawisza, Brian Slocum, Sam Parolise and Mike Hollos were all four year lettermen.



 

2001 Baseball

The Cougars finished 15-17 overall and 10-11 in the PAC. They tied for fourth in the PAC but lost the tiebreaker criteria for the final PAC playoff berth.
 
Chris Wade tied the school record for career games played (120) and is the all-time leader in putouts with 529.
 
Ed Piekara set school single season records for at bats (124), homers (7) and saves (6). He is the career leader with 10 saves.
 
Ray Zawisza is the school's single season and career leader in fielding percentage at 1.000%.
 
Jason Hause broke his own school record with 104 assists and set the career record with 268 assists.
 
Wade, Piekara and Matt O'Brien were named first-team All-PAC.
 
Piekara was the team MVP and Mike Duda earned the Coach's Award.
 
Duda, Bill Dessoye, Wade and Hause were four-year lettermen.



 

2000 Baseball

The Cougars finished 12-18-1 overall and 7-7 in the PAC.
 
Jamie Smith set a new school record with a .584 on base percentage. He is also the school's all-time leader with a .526 on base percentage. He also led the PAC in batting average
 
First baseman Chris Wade set a school record with 222 putouts, and Jason Hause set a school record with 76 assists.
 
Catcher Mike Duda is the school's all-time leader in fielding percentage and total chances/error.
 
Todd Bardua became the school's all-time leader with 44 appearances.
 
Smith and Justin Kotarski were names first-team All-PAC/
 
Senior pitcher Brian Smith was fifth in the PAC in ERA while freshman pitcher Albie Biggs was 10th.
 
Smith was the team MVP and Hause received that Coach's Award.
 
Smith, Bardua and Ryan Vetter were four-year lettermen.

 

1999 Baseball

The Cougars finished 7-21 with 13 of their losses by three runs or less. MU lost a pair of 4-3 heartbreakers to PAC champion Wesley.
 
Bryan Smith finished 10th in the PAC in ERA at 3.59.
 
Freshman outfielder Justin Kotarski was a second-team All-PAC selection.
 
Smith was the team MVP while Dan Dushanko received the Coach's Award.
 
Mike DeFrancesco, Dushanko, Chad Madden and Bob Skasko were recognized as four-year lettermen.


 

1998 Baseball

The Cougars finished 14-15 and tied for first in the PAC at 7-3. They made their second consecutive playoff appearance.
 
Joe Young set school career records for games (120), hits (142), doubles (36) and at bats/strikeouts (15.2).
 
Tom Walsh set career records for stolen bases (35) and assists (244). He also set a single season assist record (66).
 
Chris Rees became the school's all time leader in fielding percentage (.970), appearances (43), starts (37), complete games (9), innings (187.1), strikeouts (112) and wins (13).
 
Mike Duda set a record for chances/error (72).
 
Rees was selected to the GTE Academic All-American All-District Team for the second straight year.
 
Rees was first team All-PAC selection while Young, Bob Skasko and Bryan Smith were named second team.
 
Young was the team MVP while Rees received the Coach's Award.
 
Vince Blaney, Todd Krawchuk, Rees, Chris Scozzari, Walsh and Young were recognized as four year lettermen.


 

1997 Baseball

The Cougars finished 14-16-1, their best season in Chuck Edkins' six seasons as head coach. They made their first ever PAC playoff appearance and finished second.
 
CM went 13-8 in April after a 1-8-1 start.
 
Joe Campisi set school single-season records for hits (56), total bases (93), RBI's (41), stolen bases (13), fielding (.989), at bats (122), home runs (6) and total chances/errors (91/1).
 
Joe Young set single-season records for on base percentage (.530), doubles (16) and runs (33).
 
Young and Campisi were ranked among the national leaders in batting throughout the season. Young was also ranked in doubles per game.
 
Young, Campisi, Tom Walsh and Angelo Colonna were all named to the PAC All-Star team.  Chris Rees was named second-team, and Edkins was voted PAC Coach of the Year.
 
Campisi become CM's first All-ECAC and All-Regional selection.
 
Rees was selected to the GTE Academic All-American All-District Team.
 
Campisi was the team MVP, while Paul Erwin received the Coach's Award.
 
Campisi, Erwin, Colonna and Joe Ashton were recognized as four-year lettermen.

 

1996 Baseball

For the fourth consecutive season, the Cougars won as many of more games than the previous season.  CM finished 6-6 and in third place in the PAC.
 
Big wins included: beating Alvernia for the first time in six years, beating nationally ranked Albright on the road, beating MAC playoff team King's and beating Scranton and Lackawanna County Stadium.
 
Tom Walsh was named first-team All-PAC.
 
Eric Williams was the team MVP, and Jody Haggerty received the Coach's Award.


 

1995 Baseball

The 1995 baseball season was the continuation of the development of a competitive collegiate baseball program at Misericordia University. For the third straight season, the Cougars won more games than the previous season. MU finished 6-6 and in third place in the PAC.
 
The Cougars recorded a three-game win streak over Wilkes, King's and Marywood in a one-week span. They swept series from King's and Marywood while splitting with Wilkes.
 
Senior Tim Arnold set a new NCAA Division III record with six walks in one game.
 
Junior catcher Eric Williams and sophomore outfielder Joe Ashton were both named first-team All-PAC.


 

1994 Baseball

An overall record of 6-17 may not seem impressive to some, but those who have been around the CM baseball team for the last three years know what an accomplishment that record is. The Cougars of Chuck Edkins improved throughout the season and developed into a competitive ball club while displaying the skills and talent of a college baseball team.
 
Eric Williams hit .432 with six homer to lead the offensive attack.
 
Freshman Joe Bunevicius hit .400.
 
Williams, Joe Shrimp and Frank Cwalinski were named first-team All-PAC.
 
Cwalinski, a senior in his first season on the team, was the team MVP. John Riggs, a four-year letterman, received the Coach's Award and will join the team as a student assistant coach next season.


 

1993 Baseball

In his second season as head coach of the CM baseball team, Chuck Edkins has established a nucleus for the future. With a limited amount of experience, Edkins guided the Cougars to a 4-13 record while displaying constant improvement. As the season progressed, the Cougars developed into a competitive ball club and gave reason to be excited about the future.
 
CM defeated Scranton for the first time in several years.
 
Eric Williams hit .500 with five homers and 15 RBI's.
 
Matt Goheen and Bryan Most both worked four complete games each.
 
Williams and John Drouse were named All-PAC.

 

1992 Baseball

The Cougars completed their first season under head coach Chuck Edkins, who recorded his first career win against Penn St. Harrisburg.
 
Freshman Eric Pieczynski led the team in hitting at .438. He hit in 19 of 23 games, including a "modern day" school record 11-game hit streak.
 
Two other players hit above .300: senior outfielder, Pat Del Balso and senior second baseman, Kevin Ward.
 
Pieczynski was named co-athlete of the month in April.
 
Del Balso was the team MVP and Ward earned the Coach's Award.


 

1991 Baseball

The Cougars finished 13-11-1 on the season under head coach Irv Post.
 
Anthony Vicari led CM in hitting with a .370 average and 34 total hits.
 
Senior Kevin Villa was nationally ranked in doubles per game with 8 doubles in just 23 game (0.35 average).
 
Villa, Pat Del Balso and Vicari were first-team All-PAC, while Mike Post, Jeff Spencer and Scott Garabedian were named to the second-team.
