2011-12 Men's SwimmingThe Misericordia University men’s swim team had its best finish ever with a second-place showing at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships. The Cougars finished 6-3 during the regular season.
The men won three MAC relays while the women won two MAC relays.
Doug Ranson won the 100 and 200 breaststrokes at MAC’s. Adam Grzech won the 100 free.
Adam Grzech (100 free) and Peter Kolokithias (200 free) both set school records.
The Cougars also set a school record in the 800 free relay.
Grzech led the team in scoring and was named team MVP. Eric Thomas earned the Coach’s Award.
2010-11 Men's SwimmingThe Misericordia University men’s swim team finished third at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships for the second year in a row.
The men won seven MAC titles and set nine school records.
Jeff Clark swam the 16th-fastest time in the nation in the 100 breaststroke.
Greg Vossler won the 50 free at MAC’s and set school records in the 50 & 100 free.
Clark won the 100 & 200 breaststrokes at MAC’s, setting school and CYC pool records in both.
The men won five MAC relay titles, including two CYC pool/MAC records.
Clark was the team MVP for the fourth straight year. Brendan Dougherty received the Coach’s Award.
2009-10 Men's SwimmingLed by NCAA qualifier
Jeff Clark, the Misericordia University men's swim team enjoyed one of their best seasons with a third place finish at the MAC Championships.
The Cougars were 5-4 during the regular season.
Clark won two individual events at the MAC meet and was part of two relay wins.
In the process, he set a pool/MAC record in the 200 breaststroke and set a pool record and tied the MAC record in the 100 breaststroke.
He became Misericordia's first NCAA qualifer since Eric Sweeney's NCAA Championship performance in 1999.
Clark teamed with
Adam Grzech, Eric Schollmeyer and
Greg Vossler to win the 200 freestyle and medley relays.
Their time in the 200 free tied the MAC record and set a new pool record.
Vossler was also the MAC champion in the 50 freestyle.
Clark, who was part of eight school records during the season, finished in the top 20 in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes at the NCAA Championships.
He won two events at the Grove City Longnecker Invitational and set a meet record in the 100 breaststroke.
He led the team in scoring for the third straight year and was named team MVP for the third time.Â
Mike Labagh received the Coach's Award.
2008-09 Men's SwimmingThe Misericordia men's swim team finished third at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
Mitch Finch, Jeff Clark, Eric Schollmeyer and Greg Vossler finished second in the 200 medley relay.
Clark won the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the MACs and set a CYC pool record in the 200.
Vossler won the 50 free.
Clark led the men's team in scoring for the second straight season.
The team set 10 school records.
Clark was named team MVP for the second straight year. Vossler earned the Coach's Award.2007-2008 Men’s Swimming
The Misericordia swim teams became the first MU teams to compete at the MAC championships.
Jeff Clark won the 200 breaststroke to help the men’s team to a fourth place finish at the MAC’s.
Clark set school records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Mike Dougherty set a school record in the 200 back.
The men’s team also set two relay records.
Clark was named men’s MVP, and Matt Mill earned the Coach’s Award.
2006-2007 Men's Swimming
The Cougars finished 4-7 and were sixth at the Grove City Invitational.
Senior Pete Yelacic led the team in scoring for the fourth straight year and was named team MVP for the fourth time as well.
Yelacic set school records in the 100 free, 200 IM and 400 IM.
Yelacic teamed with Matt Mill, Ryan Epler and Ryan Weaver to establish a new school record in the 200 free relay.
Mill received the Coach's Award.
2005-2006 Men's Swimming
The Cougars finished their season 5-8.
Junior Pete Yelacic led the team in scoring for the third straight season (231). Â He also set two school records: 100 free and 200 breastroke.
Ryan Epler set a school record in the 200 backstroke.
Yelacic, Matt Mill, Will Gagliardi and Ryan Weaver set a school record in the 400 medley relay.
Yelacic was the team MVP, and Weaver earned the Coach's Award.
2004-2005 Men's Swimming
The Cougars enjoyed their best season ever with a 9-4 record under first year head coach Jason Morini.
Pete Yelacic led the team in scoring for the second straight season with 353.5 points. He won the 1000 freestyle at the Grove City Championships and was third at 1650.
Yelacic sest school records in the 500 and 1000 freestyles, and Justin Garruba set school marks in the 50 and 200 frees.
The men's team also set four school relay records.
Yelacic earned the team MVP, while Jeff Ziegler received the Coach's Award.
2003-2004 Men's Swimming
The Cougars finished their season at 7-6.
Freshman Peter Yelacic led the team in scoring with 328.5 points. He set school records in the 100 freestyle (48.98), 1000 freestyle (10:17.30), 1650 freestyle (17:04.27), 100 breatstroke (1:03.39), and 200 IM (2:03.53). He also set a pool record in the 1650 freestyle (18:12.48).
Kevin Baker set school records in the 200 breastroke and 400 IM and set pool records in the 1000 free , 200 breaststroke and 400 IM.
The team also set school records in the 200 medley, 400 medley, 200 freestyle and 800 free relays.
Yelacic was the team MVP, while Frank Orefice received the Coach's Award.
Orefice and Jeff Hadlgard were the only seniors on the team.
2002-2003 Men's Swimming
The Cougars finished their season at 4-9.
Freshman Justin Garruba led the team in scoring with 332 points.
Jeff Ziegler was the team MVP, while Ryan Durham reveived the Coach's Award.
Durham, Seth Koches and Tim Teague were the only seniors on the team. Ed Halloran was also recognized on "Senior Appreciation Day".
2001-2002 Men's Swimming
The Cougars finished their season with a 5-8 record.
The team dedicated its season to injured team captain Ed Halloran.
Ryan Durham led the team in scoring followed by Matt Brenner and Tim Teague.
Brenner was the team MVP, and Durham received the Coach's Award.
2000-2001 Men's Swimming
The Cougars barely missed a .500 season with a 5-7 record.
Chris Petrilla set school records in the 200 IM and 200 breastroke, and Dan Cianci established a school record in the 400Â IM.
Ed Halloran, Petrillo, Matt Brenner and Steve Keim set a school record in the 200 medley relay.
Halloran was the team MVP, and Brian Williams received the Coach's Award.
Keim and Williams were the only seniors.
1999-2000 Men's Swimming
The Cougars finished their season with a 5-8 record.
Freshman Ed Halloran led the team in scoring with 164 points, while Steve Keim was second with 143.
Holloran set two school individual records in the backstroke.
Bob Wentling, the only senior on the team, was recognized as a four-year letterman.
1998-1999 Men's Swimming
The Cougars completed their season with a 5-7 record.
Eric Sweeney became the school's first NCAA champion with a victory in the 200 butterfly. Â He also placed in the 100 butterfly to end his career as a three-time All-American.
Sweeney led the team in scoring with 277 points, had two first place finished in the ECAC Championships and had two firsts and a second place finish at the Grove City Invitational Championships. He holds 10 individual and four school relay records.
Freshman Matt Brenner was second on the team in scoring with 182 points.
Sweeney was the team MVP, while Steve Keim won the Coach's Award.
1997-1998 Men's Swimming
The Cougars enjoyed their first winning season with a 7-6 record.
Junior Eric Sweeney became CM's first male All-American with a 12th-place finish in the 200 butterfly.
He led the team in scoring with 371 points, while Andy Jackson was second with 240.
CM was 13th at the ECAC Championships behind Sweeney's two firsts and one fourth-place finish.
Sweeney established five school records and Jackson added one.
Sweeney, Jackson, Steve Keim and Brent Lewandowski were part of three record-setting school relay teams.
Sweeney was sixth in the individual points race at the Grove City Championships.
1996-1997 Men's Swimming
The Cougars completed their third varsity season at 4-8.
Eric Sweeney competed in the ECACÂ Championships for the second straight season and barely missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
Sweeney led the team in scoring with 260 points, and Andy Jackson was second with 223 points.
Jason Mock and David TerBorg were the only two seniors on the team.
Sweeney set three school records and two pool records, while Jackson set one school record and one pool record.
1995-1996 Men's Swimming
The Cougars completed their second varsity season with a 3-8 record.
Eric Sweeney competed in the ECAC Championships and was named Swimmer of the Meet at the Ocean County Invitational.
The team established new school records in each of the 18 events as well as three new Anderson Center Pool records.
Sweeney was the team MVP, while Andy Jackson received the Coach's Award.
1994-1995 Men's Swimming
The Cougars completed their first varsity season with a 1-9 record. The men earned their first varsity victory on opening-night with a win over Rutgers-Camden.
The first home meet was held in the Anderson Sports-Health Center, November 12, 1994 against Kutztown University.
Chris Murray was the team MVP, while Jason Mock received the Coach's Award The team showed constant improvement in their times throughout the season.
