2016-17 Women's Swimming
The Misericordia University women's swim team was 7-8 and finished sixth at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
Clare Winton set a new school record in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:36.03 at the MAC Championships.
Grace Nikolski won two individual MAC titles in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.09) and the 200 breaststroke (2:24.22).
Nikolski also set three pool records in one meet against King's in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.03), 200 breaststroke (2:29.19) and 200 IM (2:18.03).
2015-16 Women's Swimming
The Cougars finished with a 7-8 record and was third at the MAC Championships. It is the ninth straight year the women's team has finished in the top three at the conference championships.
Morgan Hanadel set school records in the 100 (53.57), and 200 freestyle (1:57.17) at the MAC Championships.
Dani Blass set a new school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:15.11.
Blass, Hanadel, Rachel Finnegan, and Kerri Ciriello set the 800 freestyle school record at the MAC Championships (7:54.47)
Blass was named to the MAC All-Academic Team.
2014-15 Women's Swimming
The Misericordia women's swim team finished the season with a record of 4-7-1 and finished second out of 12 teams a the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships.
Dani Blass set three individual school records in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.64) , 200 breaststroke (2:22.49), and 400 Individual Medley (4:34.90). All three times also broke MAC Championship records
Blass also claimed the David B. Eavenson Award as the MAC Swimmer of the Year after winning three MAC titles while setting three MAC records and was named to the MAC All-Academic team.
Marissa Gombosi, Taylor Grenier, Aryn Zimmerman, and Blass set the school record in the 200 medley relay (1:49.02)
Zimmerman, Dana Hallam, Rachel Finnegan, and Morgan Hanadel won the MAC title in the 200 free relay, swimming 1:38.73 to set a new record.
Hanadel, Hallam, Blass, Zimmerman set the MU record in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:34.29
2013-14 Women's Swimming
The Misericordia University women’s swim team was 7-6 and finished second at MAC’s.
Bree Grzech, Amanda Stammherr, Brittany Luzik and
Dani Blass won the 400 medley relay at MAC’s.
Stammherr won the 100 breaststroke at MAC’s.
Blass won the 200 breaststroke at MAC’s and set a school record.
Grzech set the school record in the 100 & 200 backstroke.
Luzik set the school record in the 100 fly.
Beth Karmondy set a school record in the 400 IM.
The team set three school relay records.
Blass was the women’s team MVP for the second straight season.
Megan DiPalo earned the Coach’s Award.
2012-13 Women's Swimming

Matt VanDerMeid, the Misericordia University women’s swim team finished third at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships for the second straight season.
The Cougars were 5-7.
Bree Grzech won the 100 backstroke at MAC’s and
Dani Blass won a MAC title in the 100 breaststroke.
Grzech, Blass,
Brittany Luzik and
Dana Hallam won the 400 medley relay.
Grzech set a school record in the 100 backstroke.
Blass set school marks in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM and was named MAC Rookie of the Year.
2011-12 Women's Swimming
The Misericordia University women’s swim team finished third at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships. The Cougars were 8-3 during the regular season.
MU won two MAC relays, including the meet-opening 200 free relay for the fifth straight year. The Cougars set school record in all five relays at the MAC’s.
Chelsea Mixon (100 free), Bree Grzech (100 back) and Brittany Luzik (100 fly) set a school records for the wome’s team.
Mixon was second on the team in scoring and was the women’ team MVP. Michelle Bruno received the Coach’s Award.
2010-11 Women's Swimming
The Misericordia University women’s swim team finished second at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships for the second straight season.
The women’s team won three MAC titles and set seven school records.
Breanna Grzech, Brittany Luzik, Chelsea Mixon and Alicia Bryk made it four straight years that Misericordia won the 200 free relay to open the MAC Championships.
Bryk was the women’ team MVP. Danni Basile received the Coach’s Award.
2009-10 Women's Swimming
After winning the MAC Championship a year ago, the Misericordia University women's swim team finished second in 2010 for their third top-two finish in three years in the MAC.
MU was 6-5 during the regular season.
The Cougars won five MAC titles and set seven school records.
Abby Kocon, Kiana Ramirez, Chelsea Mixon and
Alicia Bryk won the 200 free relay - the third straight year MU has claimed the opening event.
The Cougars also won the 400 and 800 freestyle relays.
Bryk, Mixon and Kocon finished 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle and Mixon and Kocon were 1-2 in the 100 freestyle.
In addition, Mixon,
Jessica Grant and Ramirez finished 2-3-4 in the 200 freestyle.
Mixon led the team in scoring and was named team MVP while Kocon concluded her stellar career with the Coach's Award.
2008-09 Women's Swimming
The Misericordia women's swim team won the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship.
Abby Kocon, Amanda McHugh, Chelsea Mixon and Alicia Bryk, defended MU's title in the 200 free relay.
MU also won the women's 200 and 400 medley relays and the 400 free relay.
Kocon and Bryk finished 1-2 in the 50 and 100 free.
Michelle Lacroce and Crissy Condus finished 2-3 in the 100 fly.
Kocon, Jessica Grant and Mixon were 2-3-5 in the 200 free.
Grant was second in the 1650 and third in the 500. She was named MAC Rookie of the Year.
The women's team set eight school records.
Kocon led the women's team in scoring and was named team MVP. Juliann McBride earned the Coach's Award.
2007-2008 Women’s Swimming
The Misericordia swim teams became the first MU teams to compete in the MAC championships.
Alicia Bryk, Jessie Williamson, Erin Schenk and Elisa Kennedy won the opening event, the 200 free relay, to give MU its first MAC championship.
The women’s team finished second at the MAC championships.
Bryk, Rachael Blass, Abby Kocon and Alaina Trent finished second in the 400 free relay.
Kocon was second in the 100 free, and Trent was second in the 200 back.
Kennedy, Amanda McHugh, Trent and Bryk were second in the 200 medley relay.
Crissy Condus, Michelle Lacroce, Kocon and Trent finished second in the 800 free relay.
Trent led the team in scoring for the second straight season.
Trent set a school record in the 200 IM and was part of two new relay records.
Trent was named women’s MVP for the second straight year, and Lacroce earned the Coach’s Award.
2006-2007 Women's Swimming
The Cougars were 9-2 and finished fourth at the Grove City Invitational.
Freshman Alaina Trent led the team in scoring and set school records in the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM.
Classmate Abby Kocon set school marks in the 50 and 200 free.
The Cougars also set school records in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. Trent was the team MVP and Melissa Sutliff received the Coach's Award.
2005-2006 Women's Swimming
The Cougars finished their season 8-6.
Sophomore Rachael Blass led the team in scoring (235), while Cara Devine and Sarah Monell tied for second (228).
Monell set three school records: 50 free, 100 free and 100 butterfly. She also set a pool record in the 100 butterfly.
Monell was the team MVP, while Elisa Kennedy earned the Coach's Award.
Devine, Stacy Demshock and Mary Otlowski were recognized as four-year letter winners.
2004-2005 Women's Swimming
The Cougars tied their best record in school history, 11-2 and tied their record 10-meet win streak.
It was the first season for head coach Jason Morini.
Cara Devine led the women's team in scoring for the third consecutive year with 260.25 points.
The team set four individual records: Jenna Sejuit (50 free), Sarah Monell (100/200 free) and Rachael Blass (100 fly).
Devine was the MVP and Amanda Politz received the Coach's Award.
Politz and Tracy Eiring were recognized as four -year letter winners.
2003-2004 Women's Swimming
The Cougars had their best season ever at 11-2, including a school record 10-meet win streak.
Cara Devine led the team in scoring for the second straight season with 296.25 points and set school records in the 100 backstroke and a pool record in the 200 backstroke.
The team also set school records in the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Amanda Politz was the MVP and Devine received the Coach's Award.
Jessica Barr was the lone senior on the team and was recognized as a four-year letter winner.
2002-2003 Women's Swimming
The Cougars enjoyed a winning season with a 7-6 record.
Freshman Cara Devine led the team in scoring with 428 points and set a school record in the 200 IM.
Devine was the team's MVP while Amanda Politz received her second consecutive Coach's Award.
Michelle Natale and Bridget Reardon were the only seniors on the team.
2001-2002 Women's Swimming
The Cougars won three of their last five meets to finish the season 5-8.
Freshman Tracy Eiring set a school record in the 100 freestyle at the Grove City Invitational.
Amanda Politz and Eiring were the top scorers on the team.
Steph Myers was the team's MVP and Politz received the Coach's Award.
2000-2001 Women's Swimming
The Cougars finished with a 3-10 record.
Kelley Flynn led the team in scoring for the fourth consecutive year. She led the Cougars with a third, a fifth and a sixth place finish at the Grove City Invitational.
Flynn holds 11 school individual records and two relay records.
Flynn was the team MVP for her fourth straight year and Stephanie Myers received the Coach's Award for her second year.
Flynn, Rosie Barkus, Jolene Brown, Chris Dieterle, Michele Haldaman, Carol Kuca, Amy Tegethoff and Jenn VanFossen were all seniors.
1999-2000 Women's Swimming
The Cougars just missed their fifth consecutive .500 season with a 6-7 record.
Kelley Flynn led the women's team in scoring for the third straight year with 239 points. Debbie Weidow was second with 191 points.
Flynn holds 10 school individual records and two relay records. She set a pool record in the 200 freestyle.
Maureen Shovlin set a school record in the 50 freestyle.
Flynn was the MVP while Stephanie Myers received the Coach's Award.
Tracy Bergen, Kelly Hutchings and Weidow were the only seniors on the team. Hutchings and Weidow were four year letter winners.
1998-1999 Women's Swimming
The Cougars recorded their fourth consecutive .500 season with a 6-6 record.
Kelley Flynn led the team in scoring for the second straight year with 287 points and Stephanie Knight was second with 230 points.
Flynn had two third, a fourth and a sixth place finish at the ECAC Championships.
The Cougars competed at the Grove City Invitational Championships, where Flynn had three first place finishes and tied for the individual High Points Award.
Flynn was the team MVP while Laura Ann Palanzo received the Coach's Award.
1997-1998 Women's Swimming
The Cougars completed their season with a 7-6 record.
Freshman Kelley Flynn led the team in scoring with 254 points. Stephanie Knight was second with 218 while Katie Hennessey was third with 216.
The Cougars finished 12th at the first ECAC D-III meet where Flynn had a second, two thirds and a sixth-place finish.
Flynn set seven school individual records and two relay records. Hennessey set three school individual records and two school records.
Flynn was the team MVP while Andrea Hitchcock received the Coach's Award.
Allison Banta and Hitchcock were the only seniors on the team.
1996-1997 Women's Swimming
The Cougars completed their season with an 8-5 record.
Heather Dougherty qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second straight year and became the school's first All-American in any sport with a 15th place honorable mention. She led the team in scoring with 319 points.
Freshman Katie Hennessey was second on the team in scoring with 301 points. She set two school records.
Dougherty was the team MVP while Allison Banta received the Coach's Award.
Dougherty and Jill Marinkovic were the only seniors on the team.
1995-1996 Women's Swimming
The Cougars completed their second varsity season with a 7-5 record.
Heather Dougherty competed at the ECAC championships and became the school's first NCAA championship qualifier.
Dougherty was named Swimmer of the Meet at the Binghamton Invitation. She was also the team MVP.
The team established new school records in each of the 18 events and set three new Anderson Center Pool records.
1994-1995 Women's Swimming
The Cougars completed their first varsity season with a 6-5 record.
The women earned their first varsity victory on opening-night with a win over Rutgers-Camden.
The first home meet was held in the Anderson Sports-Health Center, November 12, 1994 against Kutztown University.
Heather Dougherty was the team MVP.
The team showed constant improvement in their times throughout the season.
