Second-seeded Keystone rode the arm of Rob Rogers to an 8-0 win over Franklin & Marshall in the first round of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Baseball Championships, Wednesday evening at PNC Field in Moosic, PA.

Rogers worked seven shutout innings while striking out seven and allowing just three walks.

Ricky Riscica had two hits and drove in three runs and Austin Straub, Gabriel Molina and Lymbel Guerrero all had two hits for the Giants.

Rick McLaughlin added two RBI.

Mike Meszoros and Felix Lopez combined for five strikeouts over the final two innings.

Alex Vescera, Pat Andrews and Brian Erb all had hits for F & M while Brendan DeMond worked innings on the mound.

Keystone got the only run it need in the bottom of the third when Miquel Castano singled up the middle, stole second and moved to third on a sacrifice before coming home on a wild pitch.

Keystone broke the game open with four runs in the bottom of the sixth.  Straub singled through the right side and moved to second when Gabriel Ramirez walked.  Gabriel Molina dropped a soft liner into center field to load the bases and Riscica bounced a two-run single over a drawn-in infield to make it 3-0.

McLaughlin made it 4-0 with a safety squeeze bunt and Guerrero added an RBI-double off the left field wall.

The Giants put the game out of reach with three more runs in the eighth.  Ramirez doubled to right center and pinch-runner Jose Garcia stole third and scored on Molina’s single through the left side.

Riscica lined an RBI-double to left center and McLaughlin made it 8-0 with a single to center.

Keystone improves to 34-8 and will face Ramapo, Thursday at 7:45.  Franklin & Marshall, 23-20, will play an elimination game versus Misericordia at 1:15.
