Salisbury stayed alive at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Baseball Regional championships with a 5-3 win over Salve Regina, Thursday afternoon at PNC Field in Moosic, PA.
Alex Lipman had two hits and two RBI and Pete Grasso and Tyler Hrycak both had two hits for the Seagulls. Grasso allowed just three hits over 6.2 innings to improve to 7-2.
Salisbury took a 3-0 lead in the third on an RBI-single by Grasso, a bases loaded walk by Jack Barry and an infield error.
Hunter Sleeper led off the bottom of the inning with a double and scored on a fielder’s choice to make it 3-1.
Tyler Hrycak led off the top the eighth with a double to left center and Brad Keith walked. Both runners eventually scored on a two-out, two-run single up the middle by Lipman to make it 5-1.
Smith and Dacey walked to start the bottom of the eighth for Salve Regina with Smith eventually scoring a wild pitch.
Ryan Kelly led off the ninth with an infield single and eventually scored on Alex Perry’s single through the right side.
