James Werner is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Misericordia University football team.
He is a graduate of Salve Regina University where he earned a degree in economics.
During his time at Salve Regina, Werner played defensive tackle for three seasons before spending the final season as a student coach due to injuries.
Werner most recently served as a part time assistant coach at Castleton State College as the defensive line coach. Prior to his time at Castleton State, he was an assistant coach at SUNY Maritime College. At Maritime he was the running backs coach, academic coordinator and equipment manager.
