Joe Zabielski has been a member of the Misericordia football staff since 2016.
During his tenure, he has coached the defensive line, linebackers, punters and long snappers.
Zabielski has been coaching football at the high school and collegiate level for 26 years.
Previously, Zabielski coached at Wilkes University where he mentored multiple All-MAC players and All-Americans and helped the Colonels to the 2006 MAC title.
At Misericordia, he serves as a mainstay figure and helped transform the Cougars into a winning football program.
He was a member of the staff during MU’s breakout season in 2018 when they went 8-3 and challenged for a MAC championship.
Zabielski is a graduate of nearby Old Forge High School where he played a quarterback, safety and punter.
He graduated from of Bucknell University where he played tight end and punter.
Zabielski resides in Archbald and is a mathematics teacher, girl’s basketball coach and softball coach at Valley View High School.
He and his wife Anastasia have two daughters, Megan and Mary.
