Tyler Cottle is in his first season as head coach and spent the last three seasons as the defensive coordinator with the Misericordia University football team.
Cottle most recently served as a defensive assistant coach and co-special teams coordinator at his alma mater, Juniata College from 2019-20.
Previously, he was the defensive backs coach and co-special teams coordinator at Bates College where he mentored a second-team All-NESCAC honoree and saw the team improve in pass yards allowed per game from 276.1 to 177.3. Cottle also coached in the HBCU Spirit of America All-Star game.
Cottle has also coached at Seton Hill College (2013-17) and Becker College (2012-13).
At Seton Hill, he coached safeties and saw responsibilities as the defensive video coordinator. During his tenure, he coached both the school’s all-time tackles leader and the all-time interceptions leader. Under his watch, Seton Hill saw their first PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week in school history.
At Becker, Cottle served as the outside linebackers coach.
Cottle earned his B.S. in Sports Management from Juniata College and was a four-year letterman.
