Lauren Apetz is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams at Misericordia University.
A native of Glenwood, Florida, she is a 2016 graduate of McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, where she was a four-year member of the women’s volleyball team while earning her bachelor’s degree in speech communication.
As a freshman, Apetz led the team in blocks and was second on the team in kills with 366.
She helped lead McKendree to its first NCAA Tournament appearance during her junior season, tallying 292 kills, good enough for third on the team.
In the classroom, she was just as successful, being named Academic All-GLVC all four years.
Apetz spent the last year as an assignment editor for the NBC station in St. Louis.
