Josh Roosa is in his second season as the head men's wrestling coach at Misericordia University. He also serves as the Director of Men’s and Women’s Wrestling at MU.
In the Cougars' first season of operation under Roosa, Michael Williams earned all-region status at 149 pounds at the 2025 NCAA Region III Championships. Williams also placed fifth in the 2025 MAC Championships, joined by Aiden Hidlay (second at 285), Nikosh Marston (third at 133) and Robbie Anderson (fifth at 184).
Roosa was named the first coach in program history in August of 2023.
"It is my pleasure to welcome Josh to Misericordia University as our first head coach of men's wrestling," said Misericordia Director of Athletics, Chuck Edkins. "He has a proven track record of recruiting outstanding student-athletes and that experience will prove beneficial as he builds the program at MU."
A Crestwood High School and Bloomsburg University graduate, Roosa spent the last three seasons as the head coach at King's College.
Previously, he spent five years as an assistant at D-I Appalachian State, including four seasons as head assistant coach.
Roosa coached eight National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American at King's while more than tripling the roster size during his tenure. He coached the Monarchs' first NCAA qualifier since 2013 during the 2021-22 season and guided a school-record five NCAA Southeast Regional place-winners in 2022-23.
At Appalachian State, he helped the team to four straight Southern Conference Championships and two Southern Conference tournament championships along with 12 individual Southern Conference champions and 22 NCAA Championships individual qualifiers.
Roosa was a 5-year scholarship wrestler at Bloomsburg and was an NCAA qualifier at 149 pounds.
